To be honest I prefer the name global windows lol, suppose must of you will still refer to it as the laver stand

I reckon its something to do with mccabe and selling his share in the scarborough properties to valad

if he gives us half of the 850 million that would justify such actions

No matter what the sponsor, its still the South Stand for me, though I can just about stomach hearing "laver stand"

Is the South Stand called something else then? Of course(how could an oldie not have an 'of course') for me it will always be the cricket square and pavilion

Always has been and always will be the South stand to me.

Didn't even know it had a sponsor :p lol

South stand for me as well, i can also remember when it was the cricket field and pavillion

i still refer to it as the laver stand, but times do change

and to be honest any sponsorship after what the club has just been going through is welcomed in my opinion

It's the South Stand, Bramall Lane End, John St. and the Kop for me. Also the Corner, and the New Corner.

Can't be arsed with all these sponsors :shakehead:

Same here some times i call kop shoreham end though, how old school

When I started going it was the Kop, Lane End, and Terrace.

We used to walk round the other side at half time through the cricket pavilion.

:D:D:D

For fuck's sake, how many ridiculous sponsor's names stands do we need?

Kop. Lane End. John Street. South stand. Corner bit next to kop. Posh new corner. Any other names and I haven't got the foggiest what the hell they are on about.
If they are going to name them, how about naming them after past Blades legends? We have got the Jimmy Hagan Box Office, how about a Derek Dooley stand?

neil "the messiah" warnock memorial stand?

Sheffield United today unveiled Australia's Valad Property Group as the new South Stand sponsor for the Championship season.

The Australian top 100 listed property funds management and investment company has put its name to the South Stand at Bramall Lane for the 2007-08 campaign.

In addition, the property group’s name will also feature on the back of the United’s home and away shirts and shorts.

United’s plc chairman Kevin McCabe recently joined Valad’s board of directors after selling them a substantial chunk of his business assets.

United director Simon McCabe said: “We regard the sponsorship deal with Valad as another important step for our business plan to be able to attract high profile, global companies to back us in our bid to return to the Premiership and are delighted to be working with Valad going forward.”

United director Simon McCabe said: “We regard the sponsorship deal with Valad as another load of wonga for the club, and frankly we would name a stand after Osama Bin Laden if he forked out enough cash. I'm sure all Blades fans would agree on this, and would happily sell their soul to Satan if it got us back into the Premiership.”

Part of this may be made up. Ok, all the last bit. Please don't sue, I've got less money than Dirty Leeds.:D

Definition; something designed to preserve the memory of a person..... doesn't state anything about them being deceased ;)

What's the point of being reminded of the person if they've not karked it?
When you have a minute's silence before a football match it's rarely in memory of somebody who's still alive, is it?
"Pray silence for The Queen. Not dead yet, but you never know...."
A minute's silence in memory of Bobby Davro. Not dead, but fucking should be."

What do you all think to sponsor's on the back of shirts. Don't mind too much but have you seen some of the kits in France looks very tacky, sponsors all over them.
