Updates From Wilder

- Agent told wilder interest from Wigan
- Evans wanted to go, Wilder sanctioned the deal. Profit from the deal. Profit will go towards player coming in, makes us a better team
- Someone else lined up to come in, return of coutts was a big factor in letting him go.
- Couple of players coming in, didnt beat clock for permanent so wont be involved tomorrow but VERY VERY confident 1 or 2 in by Monday, hopefully available for Tuesday but defo for the next home game
- Performances in last 2 games had no impact on him going, reiterates he wanted to go
- Was going to make changes this weekend anyway
- Doesn't believe we are a million miles away from where he thinks we can be
- Swansea game reminds him of Brentford game last year, Boro stronger than Cardiff last year when same happened. CW happy with reaction from players at boro after going 3-0 down despite them shutting up shop, teams tend to offer no chances when shutting him shop and we had 4 really good chances
- Going to give supporters something to cheer on Saturday, everybody hurting
- 1 of the loans is defo a loan with a view to a permanent, Working on another which is loan with a view to perm in jan, in addition, still want a striker, been offered players but not the ones we want
- Confident 3 players in before window closes
- Mondays comments on 2 perm, 2 loans - perms were for waghorn and freeman, didnt mean Freemans valuation, had a price on Oconnells head but Brighton didnt meet it
- Drawing comparisons with boro and how they are struggling to sign players despite all the resources available to them, would like to be in their position finance wise but were on a different path spending wise to them
- Is wilder disappointed in January signings? No, just part of wheeling and dealing, these things happen and if they are best decisions for the club benefit, will do them.
- Took a punt on Ricky but just didnt work out, needs first time football every week, wont get it here now.
- 25m+ coming through the door int he past few years, not spent anything like that (not sure what the point was here?)
- Duffy not playing as we setup in a shape that didnt fit him in, worked against inter milan but not against swansea and boro. If we had won, wouldnt have been a clamour for Duffy to be playing
- Duffy and Sharp are crowd favourites with "god like" status amongst fans, but has to pick side to win
- Asked about wingbacks and how baldock has one assist in 36 games and we should get more from them. Wilder agrees, we push teams back constantly and need to be finishing more chances that we are creating, we haven't produced enough quality in final 3rd.
- Couple of doubts for the weekend, Physical game against boro, took a few bangs (didnt say who) but said it shows fight from the players.

** End **

Shame Rob didn't ask about international scouting, or Juan Pablo Anor ;)

We'll see who comes in here's hoping, but until they're here they're not and we can only have 5 loan players in a match squad and when we reach that we are harking back to the Micky Adams days

As Roy said, I thought staton did well, asked him some decent questions many of us have been asking. Shame he didn't ask about the gobby wives on twitter though.... could have been fun.

Not at all.
I just couldn't find the 'sarcastic' emoticon :(
Caught me out there. It was actually the angry emoji that made me think you were serious. That and the ominous thunder going on down here right now.

It's been done to death that's why. Someone on here has replaced an earlier obsession with it......

Here's the points:

-Profit on Lee Evans

-He and his agent showed desire to leave, “they never shut it down”

-Wilders decision

-Coutts coming back

-Bids still out for Loan to Buy options

-Confident that 1 stroke 2 players in for Monday, definitely by next Saturday

-We need to do better, not a million miles off

-Been undone by some poor defending

-Duffy needs to be patient and wait for his chance

-We wanted 3 across the midfield

-I get why fans are asking but if we had won Swansea, would they be saying it?

-You live and die by picking the side, I’m open to criticism

-Duffy has a part to play

-Duffy and Sharp have a god like status at this club

-I’ve been in tougher situations in my career

-We need to turn it around

-Get frustrated with final ball into the box

-Stevens has to get better

-Wing backs need to be cool and calm when they get into that position

-We haven’t produced quality in top end of pitch

-Need to be better in both boxes

-Still pushing teams back, but need to improve

-Couple of doubts for the weekend from knocks v Boro

-Was a tough game

-Happy with second half performance

Law of averages say that out of the thousands of names you put forward one has got to be right eventually.

and at that point Ricky shall be hailed as ITK, it's just the way it is. I don't like it anymore than you do.

I made a bid to have a threesome with Emma Watson and Taylor Swift.

Funnily that didn’t happen either...

Curse that fax machine!

I'll bet you fucking didn't, Za.

'Cos I know, for a cert, that they would have accepted had you done so.
You just chickened out, ya wuss.

Could allus ask again. This time - not just in your imagination ;)

He's even further from good.

Not fit to lace Freemans boots and it's not as if Freeman is a world-beater.

Well you have to be fair, and I watched all the preseason games and freeman wasn't as good as Baldock . I don't think freeman is back to his best yet. Hopefully soon he will be. He is more of a goal threat for sure.

- 25m+ coming through the door int he past few years, not spent anything like that (not sure what the point was here?)

The point was that whilst some of his signings have not worked, he has taken a few low risk gambles with the very little he has be given by the owners, especially in comparison to how much financially has been brought into the club since he became in charge.

The manger is not the problem, never has been!

I am going to go out on a limb here, so please bear with me in case I drop a fucking bollock.

Possibly because Coutts wasn't fully fit and it wasn't the end of the transfer window when those two games were scheduled to be played.
Yeah, what I mean is, why not start Duffy instead of Evans or Leonard ?

Think he was trying to say that while everything might not come off, he's not pissing money up the wall on the ones that don't like some other clubs.

I think Coutts might be featuring against Hull in the league cup.

He’s miles better than Freeman in every aspect apart from goal scoring I’m afraid mate.

Again, I think it's far-fetched to describe him as good in any aspect. He's utterly weak, negligent and undisciplined in his defensive duties and is just as costly to this team as Enda Steven's inherent shitness.
Freeman scores and defends. He's not brilliant but I'm far more confident with him in the line-up.

Duffy and Sharp are crowd favourites with "god like" status amongst fans, but has to pick side to win

Duffy has a "god like" status because he is actually a top player. He has incredible ball control and will rarely lose the ball. Is not afraid of being pressed by multiple opponents, he's confident he can get out of it. Has great vision and passing ability. He is missed so much in this squad I don't understand what Wilder has against him.

sorry but would argue that not picking Duff man (our main and one of very few who create anything ) severely limits our chances of creating anything which was quite evident for the past 2 games and therefore does limit your chance of winning a game quite allot !

He addressed it also, he didnt fit into the shape wilder thought gave us the best chance of winning.

Is it cos he nicked Coutts crutches at that end of season do and caused him to fall over in the car park?

I feel like if you went one pass back from the assist, like a "Key Pass" stat, then Baldock's stats would be good.

That's not a thing though, but I think he does contribute "key passes" a fair bit.

I'm not adverse to Freeman playing though, or saying Baldock is going to win the Ballon d'Or.

Quote of the interview when asked about the midfield/formation against Swansea,

"It worked against Inter Milan, and OK, Inter Milan aren't Swansea" :)

Great interview as usual, interesting to see who these newbies are.

I get what you are saying and stats can be misleading but in this case Baldock is our width- the guy who overlaps and should be crossing balls in.
You cross, it's knocked in, you get an assist.
He's a trier, I really like him and his attitude. I would happily have him come in when Freeman has a knock or for cup games but the style we play means we HAVE TO get more from our wide men.
