I will reserve judgement until these signings have been announced, I have heard multiple times over the past 6 weeks that we're bringing 2/3 in and we're 'close' to signing a striker yet we're in the position we are.

Hate to be pessimistic, but the premier league starts today, should one of the players teams suffer any injuries they might be unwilling to go ahead with the deal and we're back to square one.

I'd have preferred we'd done our business early and then potentially we wouldn't be in the current position we find ourselves in.

Law of averages say that out of the thousands of names you put forward one has got to be right eventually.

Very funny, but this isn't from me, I'm just passing info from Richard Cadette's ITK post.

And if Johnson signs, three of those mentioned in the OP of the possible targets thread will have signed, as well as another two or three from that thread.

Very interesting if true, so this might always have been on the cards. Makes sense but then again, why did he play him 1st 2 games ?
I am going to go out on a limb here, so please bear with me in case I drop a fucking bollock.

Possibly because Coutts wasn't fully fit and it wasn't the end of the transfer window when those two games were scheduled to be played.

Everyone would prefer that, even CW. We’re going after players clubs do not want to sell, it’s not easy.

But, but where does it say we are interested in Freeman....

At least we tried. Would be interested to know what we bid.
What does it matter?
As it wasn't enough to buy the player it will obviously have been nothing more than an attempt to con the supporters

You think that’s CW’s modus operandi?

Oh well, at least you didn’t say ‘a Snickers and half a pack of Freddos’.

Breaking news is that Kev set off from Scarborough around ten this morning to sign some cheques at the Lane. Just as he reached St Mary's roundabout it dawned on him his "lucky biro" had been left at home so he's on his way back to pick it up. Wilders been ringing his mobile to say he can use his Cross fountain pen but the receptions bad and Kev can't hear because he's "going through a tunnel" .

More later.

Completely agree, but that said while ever we have our 'budget' of we're not going to sign someone that earn's a lot more than the rest of our squad we're always going to be restricted as to what level of quality we can expect to bring in.

Its part and parcel of playing for a football team that different players earn different wages. Its also part of life, we need to be flexible in my opinion.....and I'm not expecting us to bring in 'Jota' type of signing like Wolves pulled off last season.

So from his comments it looks like there will be one deal that’s a loan with an agreement to buy in Jan, a loan with the view to a permanent in Jan, and a loan – sounds like the striker will be the straight loan.
