Haven't confirmed Cofie deal yet but it's a minor administrative hold up. Wilson says he'll add needed pace and size up front.

Danny Wilson also admits he's still not had confirmation on his budget. No enquiries for any members of his squad after Lowton sale.

Lee Williamson is at training but no deal agreed yet. Wilson says nothing in Francois Zoko rumours but he is interested in Jeffrey Schlupp.

Kevin McDonald not at training. Danny Wilson admits he expected him here and it's disappointing. Hasn't ruled out a deal.

Thoughts?

Thought 1. He should at least know a minimum budget by now.

Thought 2. Bye bye KMac.

Thought 3. Who is Jeffrey Schlupp?

Hang on, sure I read in the shoutbox that someone had seen KMac going into the South Stand at half nine(ish).

Is he doing a secret deal behind DW's back? Did it all go tits and he though "fuck it"? Does he know the way from BDTBL to the training ground on his own? Was someone bullshitting? Thoughts?

yes i heard earlier he`d been seen walking into the south stand, maybe he thought`fek training,is there a roulette machine in here?`

My own thoughts:-

For all my attempts at being optimistic I have to agree with gav - post 2.

Not sure on KMac, we'll wait and see. The player and agent will be playing the game at the moment. Not surprising he's at the lane but not at training. Clearly negotiations are on-going but he has opted not to train with the squad.

As for Schlupp, decent player but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with having two forwards on-loan. Doesn't look like DW has any other choice at this stage!

As for Cofie, I cant understand why a simple loan transfer in the middle of a transfer window can take this long. I understand the hold up is at the OT end though.

How the fk can he not have a budget yet? Must be zero funds in the coffers. Waiting desperately for the Villa cheque to clear first.....

McDonald's season was finished by injury, yet people want him to be at training without contract. That would be utter stupidity if he came back without one

Is he actually fit enough to train?

Typical delays with United.

Knowing our luck none of the above will sign and Monty extends his contract to 2020.

On McDonald -
No decision forthcoming
Didn't turn up as we expected him to, but he is out of contract
Disappointed but that doesn't mean we don't want him to sign, we do but we just don't know at this point
We have had contact, it is his prerogative to look around and find the best deal - his agent is doing that and has been for some time.
He is still a free agent but we are pitched in there very highly
We'll wait and see
Have not lost any encouragement from him
We have made offers and it is down to the players

The latest news item on the SUFC website is embarrassing and highly concerning. Surely we can't wait forever? Surely we have contingencies lined up. I also think the tone of it is extremely meek and undermines DW's authority - is he too much of a nice guy to put his foot down and force a decision from Macca and Williamson?

He should stick his neck out and say look these are the best deals we can offer you both and you have til Friday to decide. If you don't decide by Friday then we will be looking to replace you.

The logical conclusion is that we're willing to wait until they sign for another club before we look elsewhere.
McDonald and Williamson won't know for sure whether they can get a better offer or not until the end of August.
I suspect we will start the season without either of them AND without signing any replacements.
If some other club decides they want them on transfer deadline day, we'll be looking to sign loanees instead...

So let them dictate our transfer window while we wait on them? Sounds like the Blades Way.

So now we're the ugly bird at Isabellas approaching 10 to 2 hoping that he doesn't pull anyone else before it's time for the off :(

I sometimes wonder if we are a professional football club.

If I were in the manager's shoes I wouldn't be having any of this. I've already posted previously that I would have given them deadlines but I can see it from Danny's point of view. They're very good players at this level. The other option is to leave the offer on the table but make it clear that the club is actively pursuing other targets and should willing replacements be found, then they will be replaced and their offers withdrawn. Seems fair to me.

Cant understand why the club dont give DW a budget as things stand. Willo and KMac are not contracted players so I dont understand why thats an issue. They're effectively transfer targets, like any other player we have shown interest in. Surely if they sign it comes out of his available budget for transfers so the club should know what will be available in either event (if they do or if they dont).

Must be more to it than that. Cant believe for a minute that's what is holding up the budget....particularly as DW seems to be indicating we've offered all we can and its up to the players.

were not gonna sign any of our OWN players until willo and KMac decide there future either way so in my opinion DW has no choice but to give them both a ultimatum because if we leave it too late were in serious trouble. As for schlupp in my opinon you can lead your strikeforce with two young strikers so would like to see a more recognized and experienced strike on our books before we start our new season

If you listen to the interview, DW is talking about Monday, we know he wasn't there then. Yesterday was a day off (for whatever reason), so do we know whether he didn't turn up today as well.

The club must already know the wages budget as we had to inform the football league what is was going to be on 25th June. (I.e. 65% of our turnover). Why hasn't Wilson been informed what we've told the league?

I suppose he could be referring to the budget he's allowed to spend on transfer fees but none of the players we're being seriously linked with require a transfer fee.

I still think the best option for the club football-wise would be to allow Wilson to sign the players now. If he goes over the allowed wages budget a transfer embargo will be imposed but so what, we'll already have the players we need.

That's it.
That's why there is no movement and no pressure on Willo and KMac
No other signings will be made until we trim the higher paid staff. Only Quinn is a likely sale. We are stuck with the rest

Jesus.
Can things get any worse at BL?
If Kmac & Willo leave & then we sell Quinn, without getting replacements, we will be lucky were not in a relegation fight.

Getting more disappointed with DW the longer this roles on. He's unfortunately giving me the impression of a man who has no idea what to do. I will not be happy if on transfer deadline they both leave for better offers and DW has done fuck all as a contingency in the meantime.

Fuck em, take it as they aren't going to sign get out there DW and start negotiating with some replacements, if they decide to sign before we've agreed deals with replacements great if not their loss.

DW can take all this Ill give them 'til the last minute to sign bollocks and shove it, grow a spine man FFS.
