Unusual dislike for a player

Absolutely loved watching Couttsy this season but I can understand why people are a bit stand off-ish about him. I, among with many others, watched him totally and absolutely give up mid-game towards the end of last season. Left me wondering why the hell I was bothering to turn up every week to watch the set of cunts.

I think he's just about redeemed himself this year for me. He's been fantastic and I can only put his lack of enthusiasm last season down to playing alongside vastly inferior footballers.

Inferior players because the current manager replaced some players he didn't rate with shit. Freeman being one. It must be demoralising working every day with a boss who you believe hasn't got a clue. And on top of that thinks motivation of players means posters with philosophical bollocks on em!
As an example.....it's like a Nurse turning up to work and having some bell end manager telling them about nursing when they have a degree in business management.....or a Cop with 10yrs experience of frontline policing having a new inspector who has never been a cop but jumped straight to inspector after managing a supermarket!
I suspect it's the same for a footballer. They won't understand what's needed, won't know how to fix it and everyone's performance suffers because of it.....because they are in charge and you do as they say, or get sacked.

Brian Howard , Leon Britain were good players but we're never utilised properly or played to there full potential .

Why we bought them in the first place with the football we played as always baffled me.
I'll agree on Britton, but Brian Howard was given the opportunity to play in the same position as he did for his other clubs and he always seemed to end up hiding behind the referee or man-marking Stephen Quinn, never making himself available for the ball and forcing players like Monty to try long-range passes they didn't have the talent to pull off as there was no easy pass on offer.

McDonald did the same thing when he didn't fancy it, hide from the ball, moan and point a lot when others mess up, then show up if we got a free kick. Playing with Brian Howard was usually like playing with 10 men. He was a lazy coward who did everything possible to avoid doing anything.

Paul Devlin, Jose Baxter, Dean Hammond, Vinnie Jones, Paul Williams, Phil Thompson, Peter Withe, Conor Sammon, Che Adams, Paul Thirlwell, Ian Rush and most of the fuckers from last season.
I demand you explain your dislike for Paul Dealing!;)

I understand the Coutts feelings. He's like a bird that although is nice and makes your tea nowadays, got rammed up the ass off your best mate last year.

Are you asking me sitwell? Why so agressive? I'll answer your question on scougall he has played well in games this season and scored some important goals. I am a fan. (Im a bigger fan of freemans tho btw despite everything, I would have kept him and not signed brayford permanently)
No it was for our resident player abuser. Hope no one makes a stray pass on Tuesday and becomes a 'useless cunt'.

Suddenly decides he wants to be a professional footballer 18 months into his tenure at United.

Very harsh that. Adkins would bring him on as sub and Coutts played some lovely balls last season but generally had nobody in space to aim at. He has upped his work rate this season, but he also has Billy, Freeman, Duff, Fleck and Lafferty wanting the ball. You can't be a great midfield generalissimo if all your team mates are hiding.

Graham Stuart

Paul Devlin, Jose Baxter, Dean Hammond, Vinnie Jones, Paul Williams, Phil Thompson, Peter Withe, Conor Sammon, Che Adams, Paul Thirlwell, Ian Rush

Darius Henderson. A complete cockwomble who was part of the relegation galactico.
We paid £2 million for that twat and gave him a 4 year deal. 20 goals while he was with us, thats £100,000 per goal.

Absolute agree with all of the above who looked like they didn't fancy the red and white stripes. I'd add:

Phil Thompson - organised the defence but had no commitment and no way going to pick up an injury playing for us
Marcus Bent II - 'when do I get paid?'
Jonathan Hunt - 'I'm too good to be here'
Geoff Horsfield - 'Baggie till I die'
Lee Hendrie - 'I just love kissing badges. Anyone fancy a bet?'

and the worst of the lot wasn't even a player:

Bryan 'killing time for the Manyoo job' Robson - Wendy was just another game and there was 'only one United' and it most certainly wasn't in S2

Unless they're indefensibly odious shits like Hammond, I tend to feel quite favourably towards all of our players.

That said, I was always frustrated with Michael Tonge in his later years with us. When he burst on to the scene he was so brazenly unpredictable and willing to try anything, he was a real creative asset. After the 02/03 season Warnock just coached all of that out of him. By the time he went to Stoke he was just another hardworking midfielder, raised in the Warnock image. With a less conservative manager I feel like he could have flourished.

Yes. He could have been a bit more like Le Tissier than Michael Doyle.

Should this read Brian Howard and Leon Britton? Or Michael Howard and Leon Brittain.

Should it be on here or the Brexit Thread?:p

Now that is funny my Lord, come on smile:) Be pals.

Any of the team relegated from the Championship deserve to be disliked, it should never have happened, we lost Morgan, Henderson and Williamson to injury that season but still had enough to stay up. The x4 managerial changes were a total screw up by McCabe as well.

Any player who doesn't give 100% from day one doesn't deserve hero worshiping, anyone who pulls the red & white stripes on should give it everything they have as a minimum, irrespective of liking the manager, being played out of position, not liking the tactics, not enjoying training etc.

Never really understood the hate/dislike towards Paul Ifill...

Myself I never liked McNulty, from the early few games. He is touted as a natural finisher, but doesn't live up to that billing. Scored some important goals in the cups, but just doesn't do enough for me.

Think he just reminds me of level we've been at for the last few years.

I always thought Macdonald was a bit of a knob to be honest. Played well when he could be arsed but disappeared all too often. He never once looked happy to be here. In the end he proved himself to be after one thing and one thing only, money.
Yes, had some shockers away. 'Nesh cunt' were words I used at several grounds in the London area during his stay with us. The most annoying thing is I'd see him at the Lane, then tell the mates going to an away game with me (semi-Blades southerners I've converted) how good McDonald was and he'd inevitably do fuck all. At Charlton when we were all over them but still lost, he was completely overshadowed by Doyle. Yes, Doyle!
And the most frustrating thing is I thought he'd had one of his best games for us against County in a more advanced position where he didn't have to defend as much, and then the twat leaves.

Halford. Just not my cup of tea. Whatever position he was in, he looked like he was a good player playing out of position.

Beattie. Good player, amiable bloke but I resented the way he never took his job seriously. He should have been the next Shearer but he wasted his talent.

When the going gets tough , McDonald goes missing . That's my worry with Fulham who need to focus on that 6th spot . Let's show some bollocks Fulham please .

This above is the point for all of us on here. especially the giving of 100%. We'd all have given every body part or whatever (not including your feet) to have played just one minute for the club we love. It is more than just taking it for granted and being disrespectful to the club it is snoot at us by those players and we are the important ones.
Also why 4 pages in no one has mentioned Craig Beattie is a bit of a mystery?

I was fuming when he walked out on us for Wolves, no doubt a good move for him but as you say, a twat. Often wonder how that team would have done had he stayed.

Kevin McDonald for me. Great at turning full circle and passing backwards, tried to command the centre circle but failed and was over-rated by many of our fans who purred over his 5 yard passes.. In his entire career with us you could probably count the number of times he entered the opposition penalty area on the fingers on one hand and he could never go pass a player.

He should be in the twats thread

Vinnie Jones tried to belittle us by claiming in his autobiography that he won the MOTM award every week when he played for us. Garbage!

Michael Doyle said in the 2011/12 season that not getting promotion isnt an underachievement for us. That made be boil!
