Because he refused to sub Clarke at a time when it was obvious he (Clarke) was struggling more as the game went on, and had Wilder shown initiative, we could have had fresh legs (Either of the two strikers on the bench) instead we struggled on and could have lost in the last ten minutes. Clarke's failure to run into space on our final dangerous attack (93rd minute?) was indicative of how bad sub decisions let us down.
While I take your point, it hardly means Wilder had a poor game does it? We won; in large part due to the team and system that Wilder put out.
If a player is instrumental in a win, but makes a couple of mistakes, you don't say they had a poor game.
And I defer to the point you make. retrospectively, I was harsh, probably born out of frustration, but hey, we won,
We can sometimes over analyse, Chris is the best manager we have had in years, onwards and upwards hey!!
