Good point....we did look tired in that 1st half....our pressing/ closing down wasn’t as intense.
However the club will have all the experts advice and computer dating providing exact info regards fitness.

Maybe the answer is much more simpler...could be the weather.
Every time it’s a hot day....we struggle to show any intensity.
We were the same after the lock down when during those few weeks of hot weather we struggled.

The last few months I have created my own weight lifting gym on my terrace here in Spain, I have been doing "compound" lifting, squats, overhead press, deadlift, etc, every other day when I'm not lifting I do 150 press ups, plus treadmill and walking, all this in 44 degrees! - I am now 70 years of age (I've said it now!!) I am fitter than the players looked last night, I've been doing this stuff before they were born Lol, and I am fit, - very fit. CW looked as though he needed a few sessions with me 😁

Wolves fan here - excellent report from Deadbat. As for the doom and gloom on here, Wolves just played better than expected and Blades played worse than expected, that's all. We dominated the first half, but if Fleck's shot that hit the post had been 6 inches to the left then its a different game all of a sudden. I think you are lightweight up front at the moment (but everyone seems to know that) and your goalie is a step backwards compared to last season (no shock there either), but the core of the team is still there and you will win more than you lose this season. 3 points at Villa and all will be well again. Just to say good luck for the rest of the season (and better refereeing at Villa Park this time around)

Yes thanks for that.We are desperate for a striker ,at the moment we are toothless but every time we enquire about a player Villa step in to fuck us up.If only the goal line tech was working at villa park last year they would be in the championship now.A very lucky club and they have footballs answer to Tom Daley to.

WE are so weak up top I think we need two strikers not one. Also what shocking excuses for crosses were on display last night. They all hit the first man or went flying over everyones head.I don't think Messi would have scored for us last night. Why do the wing backs have to stop and look around before attempting a cross?I said attempt ,whats wrong with the first time cross?Putting it in the danger area first time must surely be better than allowing the defenders time to get organised ,that's if they manage to clear the first man of course.

Everybody’s a fuc#ing qualified goalkeeping coach now? “Didn’t move his feet quick enough. Middle of the goal, not high up?“ What utter bollocks. And this from someone who wanted Cakir over Ramsdale! These comments aren’t just typical of our fans, it happens everywhere. Can never give credit to the opposition, always got to look for a scapegoat . Brilliant header by Saiss who plays for a class team. If JoC/Egan scored it the same people saying how shit we are, would now be saying we’re going to Europe. Embarrassing.

Actually I am a qualified goalkeeping coach....Seriously

good report as always cheers

i completely share your thoughts on football as a whole . i barely cared that the new season was here and half arsed watched the match last night - never have i felt like that in 35 years ...
surely more and more people must start waking up to what they are doing to us all....

But its ok, just carry on nodding along with the government and media whilst they cripple the economy , make millions lose their businesses/ jobs , backtrack on numerous facts and statistics , whilst we have to cover our faces , never meet more than 5 other people , never be allowed to do what we want and when we want it, because of a virus so deadly its fatality rate is on the floor and will continue to fall even when all they have to do is ' mention' this virus on a death certificate
fear and control are winning and sadly could / will get far far worse
Couldn't agree with you more Pal👍 post of the day in my book.

McBurnie won more aerial duels than any other player, in any position, in the league this weekend, with 13. Andy Carroll was second with 12, Scott Dann third with 11, and nobody else won more than 6.

If by "grafter" you're only thinking of players who run the channels or excel at rapid pressing, then McBurnie doesn't really fit the bill. But he "puts himself about" very effectively, and even in a performance where we looked largely toothless had a header cleared off the line by Saiss. For me, his willingness to compete in the air, combined with his ability to frequently win his duels, encourages me that he'll continue to be an important player for us this season.

Those stats show that McBurnie does his bit, but the very fact he has 13 aerial duels to win in the first place is what worries me. If that's the way we're going to play when he's on the pitch then I'd rather he didn't play to be honest. We look absolutely awful when we do that.

It’s not McBurnie fault, but if the crowds were back in the ground now, his inclusion in the team might very well be greeted with an collective groan. Not because of his own performances, but of the way the team tend to play the percentage game when he is in the team. That lazy diagonal ball into the box of which was so reminiscent of the Bassett\Warnock eras has started to raise it ugly head again.

Actually I am a qualified goalkeeping coach....Seriously

Think you have a good point, not saying he could've saved any of the goals, but his movements and positioning made it even harder to save. He's young a learning.

much of the same Wolves team lost at home to Stoke tonight
