Of all the videos I've watched over the years of footballers this is right up there as one of the most annoying footballers I've ever heard. He's clearly not looked after himself either post playing, I wouldn't have recognised him to be honest from his playing days.

I noticed how he said "play me gaffer I'm not shirking the game and George Santos" and then a few minutes earlier "I hid behind Mooro for protection at the airport"!

He seems to find it funny more than anything how badly he'd injured Santos. As for that Santos ran into his elbow!? I'm not saying it was deliberate, Johnson doesn't seem that type, that's the only defence I'll give of him, but there was no way that Santos ran into his elbow and end up like he did.

I could be wrong as it’s a long time ago now but my impression of Johnson was that he liked to dish it out. You won’t hear it said that often but there was (and perhaps still is) a prevailing view amongst players that certain footballers who liked to be the hard man were fair game and if they got what they gave out and received a nasty injury, tough shit.
You may notice that Fashanu got a lot of criticism for ‘doing’ Gary Mabbutt. That’s because he wasn’t one of those who tried to injure his opponents and thus didn’t ‘deserve’ what Fashanu did.

I disagree with Warnock releasing Santos also, he went onto do really well for Ipswich and Grimsby in the same league and he still had much to offer in my view.

Tbh I reckon most footballers are. From what I’ve heard Sharp can be when he’s out and about. Dunno whether it’s just magnified cause they’re footballers or whether they actually are. In fairness tho, if I had that kind of money I don’t even know what I’d be like. I’d like to think I’d still be alright though....

I live near Sharp and see him at school drop off regularly. He’s a normal Dad and low key around other parents, occasionally he gives my 10 year old a sly ‘were all Blades aren’t we?’ When he sees him in his shirt which makes my lads day.
Just seems a normal family man and a credit to the club.

That Greyhound story had me in stitches but I always had an underlying feeling he exaggerated other stories. I've no proof to back that up, it was just how I felt while watching it, he could be 100% genuine.

What I find quite interesting with him and a few of the guests is that during his career he was under a strict physical regimen meaning he would be in peak physical condition.

Obviously gives a massive headstart on those of us who have office jobs or other normal jobs.

Good to see then that having worked in an office for over 20 years and now 43 I've still managed to look after myself enough to be fine with my health. Yet despite him having a 15 year fitness headstart, he's well on his way to becoming a fat twat.

I only watched from when he started talking about WBA and how they went 1-0 up and just defended under Megson. He came across as someone who thought he was funny when in reality he isn’t.

Yeah thats what i thought. Pranks are fine and they're funny if its done to someone that appreciates that sort of thing, but to go as far as he did you'd just want to fill the cunt in.

I'd guess that most of his pranks were done to younger or new lads before they'd settled in properly. I don't imagine he'd have done some of those things to some of the big centre halves although he claimed that he did one of the shitting ones to Horsfield and he doesn't come across as shy and retiring when he has a point to make

I did find him entertaining, however I guess most of the stuff he came out with was embellished to make it more palatable for the listener.
You know what your getting with these podcasts, it's not usually about football and ability.

I have thought about but not sure it is worth it just yet.

I am sure they are at a stage they could do with money to get better guests on but I think it is too soon for them to put decent content behind a paywall. If you have seen them try to do a pub quiz lately they are not very well organised.

Also, Parkin comes across like he is not too bothered about doing the podcast these days unless he is earning a few quid for it. I think he wants the football season back for an away day vlog instead.

Some of their regular podcasts lately have still been decent though like the Matty Piper episodes but I think they need to reconsider the paywall content for now.
