That was a great result It was exciting following the tweetering feeds. Thanks to Phil for that and I look forward to his report

Maybe get your facts right... He went on a months loan Was offered the chance to stay and United wanted him back..
Don't know about that.
Why get all defensive about the kids half a dozen games for Southport would be worth a full season in the juniors.
And why would we recall him.

Maybe the club think he would progress more with the 23s. I know young Callum Semple was asked to go until the end of the season and we would not let him go either.
Bad day pal.... no worries

Jake Wright jnr proper handful never gives an inch loves to be in the thick of it , there are similarities to Mark Hughes when he played could be a proper player for us if he sticks around which might not happen not sure when his contract is up but could be this summer!!

National 1 would be perfect for Wright/Semple character building.
Not a bad day for Monday by the way

I hear Callum Semples injury is worse than first thought and is having an operation on his acl next week and will be out for 9 months.

I don't think acl injuries are what they used to be and he will come back stronger. Good lad and a goods prospect luckily still only a young lad.

Thought for the lad, just when he's making a name for himself

U23s has been very competitive this year and next year might be a better time when they can find a better fit than a team struggling at the bottom of the conference with a new manager.

Sad news for the lad.... I am sure he will come back stronger.
Thanks Sheffielder for letting us know

Yea but look at Whiteman at Mansfield doing really well.
Wrights got nothing to prove at that level mixing it with some old pros would surely be beneficial

I will miss watching him for a bit. I like watching his type of play from the back. He looks like a good strong personality and his level off fitness will stand him in good stead

It's also an injury that can leave a lasting legacy. Young Diego was never quite the same after his. Hope the young lad makes a complete recovery.

To be honest from what i heard, Diego had a shit attitude to his rehab... Meaning longer out of the game and not as fit as he should have been.

I think Young Semple is a different kettle of fish altogether. He will work his backside off to get back, fitter and stronger than before. He just looks that kind of kid.

For a young lad that has been spoken about by CW as a proper prospect, captaining the 23s at 17 years old, he must have played over 100 games at u18 and u23 over his 2 year scholarship, its a huge blow for a young lad just as he is about to start his professional career.

All the best to him.

Diego was just breaking into the first team when he got injured, which must be the worst time for it to happen. And very reliant on twisting and turning.
Semple should be OK, fingers crossed.

I agree Bush..... although i guess there is no best time to get this injury.

Calum will be fine no disrespect in away way but if he wasn't a footballer he wouldn't be giving Ussain Bolt sleepless nights about losing his 100mtr crown....his positional sense , reading of the game and game management won't be effected he can use the time away to develop mentally which a lot of young lads neglect...knowing his Dad I know that he won't be allowed to lose focus

The mental side for young players is huge.... I think you are correct regarding Callum, i think this will make him so focused on achieving his dream that in a strange way, this could be a blessing. A very very harsh blessing, granted, but a blessing none the less.
