Great report that, maybe I’ve misjudged the Times......

Worth reading just for their football coverage, crosswords, crime reports and (especially) obits. Honestly, nobody does obituaries better than The Times. I read them every day, even people I've never heard of. There's serious dedication to the writing and a depth to them that's missing anywhere else (in print or online).

The football writers are great (particularly Henry Winter and Gregor Robertson). Back when they owned Sky they also used to have exclusive (for a newspaper) football highlights, so you could read match reports and also watch the match highlights on the same page. Sadly no longer the case, but still a great read.

I'm a lefty and born and bred/proud working class, dragged up on an estate, but still enjoy reading The Times.

Just watched the Sky coverage back. At the end of the game he got asked the question "do Sheffield United deserve credit for the way they played tonight?"

His reply "no. I don't think we deserved to lose" (goes on 5 minute rant about how well they played.. missed this chance, missed that chance, should have had a penalty, blah, blah).

Knobber. No class.
He replied to the question he thought he would get, because he had prepared an answer to that.
I wonder if Moose has a Yorkshire interpreter for when Wilder briefs him.

Imagine if Wilder was the Arsenal manager. His reply would probably have been ‘yeah, we were rubbish, we’ve paid seventy million for a player who can only shoot with one foot, Aubameyang just showed why he’s not a top class player, our defenders played like big fannies and the subs looked like they were new to football. But we go again.’

They had their pants pulled down paying 72 million for Pepe. Emery is a bitter prick who sounds like Manuel on Helium. Fuck him

Not sure they have long term.

Young and contributed to 40odd goals for Lille last season.

Despite the shit he's been given on here, we couldn't get the ball off him. It was only his finish that people are basic their ill informed opinions on.

Why do we have this need for outsiders to validate us, and get upset when they don't?
Opposing manager defends his side an after unexpected defeat to lower level side. Surely this isn't a surprise to anyone?

It's almost as if we never had Warnock managing us. Bad loser and even worse winner. Made me cringe after, more or less, every game.
Wilder seems to say it how it is, but would he be the same if we were struggling and he thought his job was on the line? Let's hope we never put it to the test.

Agree with all of that, I’ll admit to being mainly a Guardian reader but I buy the Times a couple of times a week, usually for long train journeys, and its become an excellent read.
