Umbro: Next kit supplier after Adidas?

Genuine question: Why would it not be worth it if it's not a bespoke contract? Surely that won't affect the deal with Nike or the shirt sales?

Good question, I personally wouldn't mind it, although Nikes team wear contracts are as basic as they come, the rights are owned by a Co in the North East called Just Sport ( http://www.justsport-group.com/ ) and are not actually with Nike, they also own the rights to Avec.

Sunderland have Nike next season and it seems like that deal is with Nike Direct but there is history there and Nike are based in Sunderland too.

Would take Umbro after Adidas. Or maybe Hummel just as long as they don't give us a "Denmark 92" number

Would love umbro. Don't get me wrong Adidas, they make some decent kits but 2 of the last 3 have been meh. Our early kits with them were really good but I feel they're a bit stale now.

I just want a kit supplier that provides a template with full stripes on the back of the shirt.

You mean like Adidas have done?

You know Le Coq sportif gave us 3x plain backs?

Even the shirt often regarded as the best shirt ever was patched on the back (on field, not replica)...

And the one before that...

I think this is where the Adidas frustration lies with this year’s kit. They can give us decent full stripes kits. The ones in the first two seasons under Wilder were great for example. I don’t like the half & half or solid backs, but I can accept that once every few years. We’ve had three seasons now of rubbish backs. Those inside the club that manage the process I suspect weren’t bothered though, which is a shame.

Yep. The front of it looks smart from a distance, but click the image to enlarge, and it's just one cloth all the way over the shirt. Say what you want about Adidas, but the workmanship and material used on all of the shirts they've produced for us have been fantastic.

And this is the back of that effort

So Umbro are evil too by the standards of a lot on here.

The worst shirt Adidas could possibly give us will still be better than the best shirt anybody else can.
