Ulloa

I don't really think we need another physical striker when we've got Leon and McGoldrick. Billy throws himself about as well. We need pacey players for counter attacks or to run in behind defenders, not someone to lump the ball up to

Ulloa is a possibility but I don't think Nixon is hinting at anything about him there.

He's referring to how Wilder 'plays the game' and is misleading in interviews I think.

Ulloa, prem player despite lack of opportunities.....

Must be on at least 40k.

Another one to add to the 'tried, but wages proved a stumbling block'.

Would you say a "bid" automatically means "to buy"?
It could be a loan bid still, he was at Brighton last year and he could still warrant a decent fee for a season long loan.

Signing older strikers is one of the ways we can circumvent the crazy market where anybody decent and young costs a fortune, and still get good quality.

Ulloa has a year left on his contract so Leicester could pay half his wages for the last year but, as with Joao, the problem would be agreeing wages for the year/s after that.

Would be a decent signing imo.

Still feel we’d be missing some youthful exuberance- particularly without brooks. We risk being predictable without some pace and inventiveness upfront. Whoever played upfront in the current squad the front 3 will be pushing 100.

I don’t see Leon or McG as ‘physical strikers’. Despite his apparent upper body strength Billy throws himself down more than he does about. He doesn’t get involved much in open play in any event.

A good big man does not of itself promote grotesque anti-football. Used properly they can be an integral part in the transitional phase of pass and move (proper football). It’s only when players behind them take the easy and ugly way out that hoof rears it’s unpleasant and outdated head.

One thing which will help Clarke is a physical striker. His last season at Bury he partnered Pope if I remember correctly. Need Clarke leading the line unlike the other night. His partnership with Sharp was/is ok because Sharp could pull wide and drop deep

I for one was delighted with the Premier League player we last signed from Leicester City.

Someone suggests aging striker..:someone reacts with outrage and has a go at the club for considering it.

Couldn’t make this shit up...well some could I suppose.
