Then you compare them to the equivalent Pig teams.....U23s, u18s, Women....3 of the 4 teams doing brilliant.
Even Beershot or whatever they are called doing well.
SUFC first team only a small part of Abdullah's United World (sounds like a carpet firm from the 90s to rival Mike's Carpets). You lot should remember that with all your doom and gloom
On the whole things going great...just one side needs to improve a bit![]()
These lads are still very very young even compared to other U23’s sides on the one hand it makes what they’re doing all the more impressive on the other means that they’re at least 1-2 seasons away from pushing for first team places. I know people will say well if you’re good enough you’re old enough and whilst that’s true only the absolutely exceptional few play meaningful top level minutes at 16,17 and 18 (not end of season dead rubbers) these lads will need at least one loan spell imo before being in the frame for meaningful first team minutes. The academy player most likely to get first team minutes this season based on him continuing his form on loan would be RND as we have a slot open on the left hand side I don’t know if we have a recall option though.Lovely finish from Brunt, and that ball from Cappello for the third is exactly what we're missing!
Big step up needed obviously, but why not
Yeah it's probably still a way off, and I'd agree before giving them any meaningful minutes but perhaps in a cup game or late on as a sub if we're (perish the thought) winning a match! These lads are still very very young even compared to other U23’s sides on the one hand it makes what they’re doing all the more impressive on the other means that they’re at least 1-2 seasons away from pushing for first team places. I’m not against seeing them as there does look to be some very interesting talents coming through some of them straddling both age groups and seeing one of our own come through has often been my only solace watching united through the dark years in league 1. Brunt looks to be the most developed looked intelligent against Dundee pre season and could’ve had an assist had Mousset brought his shooting boots. We just need to be careful about giving them too much too soon in terms of pressure (ruined George long imo) and premier league minutes now with the form we’re in would probably be too much. The stuff about Reagan worries me tbh this is his first really successful spell away from the club which he needs and if we bring him back in probably indicates we’re not signing to replace Lundstram which is scary.Yeah it's probably still a way off, and I'd agree before giving them any meaningful minutes but perhaps in a cup game or late on as a sub if we're (perish the thought) winning a match!
Think there's also potential talk of Regan being called back from Hull in January, but it could just be paper talk
Yeah I've seen reports saying we're not planning on replacing Lunny if he leaves which again, could just be paper talk, but it's scary if so!I’m not against seeing them as there does look to be some very interesting talents coming through some of them straddling both age groups and seeing one of our own come through has often been my only solace watching united through the dark years in league 1. I’m not sure long term plan is the right phrase but if we didn’t have contingencies in place we’d be daft.I also agree that Regan should stay at Hull for the season, get him primed and ready to make an impact next season, whichever league we're in.
For all we know, relegation could be part of the club's long term vision. Not in a sense that they're wanting to go down, just that going down wouldn't be seen as such a terrible thing because we're building something bigger. Probably not like, but who knows. Look at West Brom, Norwich etc...yoyo clubs. Might take a few years of yoyoing before we can get settled, but I do believe that there's definitely a bigger picture being seen in terms of the club's future
Freeman, RND, Slater, Eastwood, Graham, Parkhouse, Dewhurst, Smith.the more developed Academy lads out on loan in big boys football
I lose track now it's not happening in front of my eyes. Interpret my definition of XI rather loosely.Freeman, RND, Slater, Eastwood, Graham, Parkhouse, Dewhurst, Smith.
Can you think of any more??
? Stephen Mallon ?Freeman, RND, Slater, Eastwood, Graham, Parkhouse, Dewhurst, Smith.
Can you think of any more??
? Harry Boyes at Bradford Park Avenue maybe ?Freeman, RND, Slater, Eastwood, Graham, Parkhouse, Dewhurst, Smith.

Well we will have to coach that out of them. And, They even shoot from outside the box !!!!!!
And practice hitting the first man on crossesWell we will have to coach that out of them.
Couple of pearlers from Cappello, great movement all the way through from Ndiaye and then whoever played that ball on about 4:30...that was a beautyGreat to see lads who are not afraid to tackle, and also credit to the young Tractor Boys for staying on their feet, Premier League players would have been rolling around on the floor after that.
We played some good stuff there.
Pretty sure that was Brunt, who also scored that lovely second goal.Couple of pearlers from Cappello, great movement all the way through from Ndiaye and then whoever played that ball on about 4:30...that was a beauty
I wasn't being anal. It took me a while to come up with those and guessed there would be more.I lose track now it's not happening in front of my eyes. Interpret my definition of XI rather loosely.
Aye I thought it might have been, fingers crossed he keeps developing at the rate he is. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see one or two of these lads go out on loan down the leagues in January at this ratePretty sure that was Brunt, who also scored that lovely second goal.
