Cheers
There was a superb MicroPub more or less within sight of the turnstile. The Market Ale House. It clearly specialises in local/Manchester beers. Six casks to go at.Ball_Sup (Phil) any decent beers to report?
Had 4 Hop Men of the Apocolypse last night, from Totally Brewed Brewery, nice 5.2% pale ale, and a pint of Grifter stout from Hopjacker.
They'd be more inclined to ask you if you were likely to give a polite answer rather than insult them...They’d do better asking me.
Ironside.... Ironside....

Blackwater (Horwich) Hop Pale
Hophurst Twisted Vine
Both Belters
PS I love Hopjacker
He was poor tonight. How did Charlie Scot play? Possible replacement for CCV?
I wondered why everybody was acting like The Ghosts of Sleath were here then I realised I muted Pinchy a couple of weeks ago (only poster I've done it too).
Good stuff.
Any of the under 23’s look like they will be in and around the squad in the next year / 18 months or so?
Phil Any word on the walking wounded Bennett and SempleHe was poor tonight.
Because we rested players for the Youth Cup Tuesday, it was unusual people in unusual positions. I doubt the back four had met each other before they got on the bus.
Scott played centre mid. He took his goal well. But otherwise mainly anonymous
I saw Semple at Shirecliffe on Saturday. The U18s were on the main pitch. Travis was drilling the U23s+ (Evans, Carter-Vickers) on the other pitch. Because I've got a big Man Crush on Binnion, I was watching with interest. There was a line of metal men - presumably representing the defensive line & a keeper - but no other human defenders. He was drilling maybe 6 players. Start it on the half way line, move it at pace to players maybe 10 yards in front, somebody get wide, play it past the metal men, everybody bomb forward and get on the end of the cross or the square ball. Rinse & repeat. Regan Slater was doing the midfield role, Hallam, Smith, etc doing the wide & get on the end of it roles.Phil Any word on the walking wounded Bennett and Semple

Semple was starting it all off - getting forward to take it off the midfield again - occasionally getting wide - and being encouraged to get on the end of it. Point being - it looked to me like he was taking a full role in it all - being asked to do what the others did - a good sign I feel.
Bennett - I know nowt.
Stephen Mallon was back last night. Interestingly, he was wearing a full on Zorro mask presumably to protect some facial injury. he drifted in & out - but showed a few good touches.
Bladeinleeds I know Norrington-Davies was in the FA Cup squad. He's played for Wales U21. He's a top performer in our U23 side. (Although - like for like - both at their best - other things being equal - I prefer Stephen Mallon to him on the left). But, he's miles off a Championship start (in my opinion). I take your point though - he's a prospect. Have I said. I love them all.....

Thanks for that.Phil, can I just say "Welcome back". The forum has missed you! (and larkymasher has vanished!)
Thanks for that.
My Twitter "lit up" last night as I was tweeting from the game. Lots of Super Cheddars. So, after your kind words - let me alienate them with my Blog Report from last night. To me, he's just Evans.
It was a poor night. I doubt most of them had met until they ran out. Three trialists I didn't really notice. An ex-Blade running the show for Bolton.
But, a great MicroPub very close. And, Evans changed the game back to 2-2. But, we got done at the death. To make it still a poor night.
Good luck.

Nice write up.
I bet you skipped to the beer bit first?
I need to write more about the beer I feel - bit more about the qualities of the pub - some simple tasting notes - I'm letting myself down with all this football malarkey.....I did indeed.

Thanks Phil That's really interesting. I always got Mallon and Brooks a bit mixed up, similar build and style. I think Bennett is still well off a return but it will be good to see Semple back. I think Graham will benefit from having Semple beside him, looked a good partnership developing.I saw Semple at Shirecliffe on Saturday. The U18s were on the main pitch. Thanks Phil Enjoyed your report although it sounds like a night in the pub would have been preferable. Your report reminds me of last year when fixture congestion caused us to field very weak teams in cup games. Keep up the good workThanks for that.
