Answered you on shoutbox mate but we are in the highest league our facilities will currently allow. Today is a bit of an extreme result because we have a lot of very experienced lads playing who are maybe beyond 21’s football now

So does this tie in with the CAT-A/B thing? As in teams with a CAT-A academy are automatically entered into a higher level of league? It sounds like that's the case.

Yeah if you’re Cat A you go into the premier league 2 set up where as Cat B play in the professional development league

The Academy coaches really seem to be instilling the work ethic into our youngsters and I’ve not really seen any petulance and arm-waving from our lads.
The 2 older lads got 68 minutes in. Surely Faxon could get some game time non-League?
I’m looking forward to seeing One and Dovy develop.

You’d have thought so especially with us having actively recruited Molyneux in the summer to be the 21’s keeper. Seems a step back to have Faxon sharing minutes with him rather than competing to start in men’s football

Video here...eventually: there's a few minutes of grass growing, and a bit of No Signal, but after that it's a goal frenzy.

Entertaining game and lots of impressive performances. Back four solid, full backs getting forward and centre halves distributing well. Blacker and Aston excellent in midfield. It's taken time for Blacker to adapt to a central midfielder, but I think that's maybe the best he's played there. Aston very neat and tidy, reminded me a bit of Arblaster at times. Faxon, one of the calmest young keepers I've seen, kept giving Blacker and Aston some tough balls which they dealt with very well despite being pressed.

One also excellent, fast and strong. I like how he sometimes decides he's going to make a ball his, even if his opponent is 80/20 favourite for it. He can assist as well. Campbell with some good finishes. Subs did well too, Atherton scoring and Francis looking bright.

RND looked like taking a little knock to the knee just before he went off. Hopefully nothing serious.

Hard to tell if Watford are rubbish. They had some athletic guys who looked decent individually, but they had no chance against our collective.

I don't agree with that. A number of these players are making progress.

Jebbison, Osula, Arblaster, Peck, Brooks and Seriki recently came through at this level, and hopefully there's more to come.

Yep. Plenty have had some 1st team exposure too.

Ignoring Rhys and Campbell, 7 of the 9 youth lads who've started today, have featured either in a pre-season game this summer, or have at least been in a match day squad this season. I think only Aston and Blacker don't hit one of those criteria (though I may be wrong).

Loads if exciting young talent coming through, and that doesn't even include those out on loan, e.g. Curtis.

Blacker was on the bench last season in the PL v Brighton.

Maybe I'm taking these victories for granted
I was shocked how poor Watford were, I need to concentrate on the positives as these sort of results should be savoured
One is really starting to impress and delighted to see Campbell firing too today
