In all fairness it was a stead win whilst rather unspectacular really.
The opposition surprisingly weren't up to scratch really and other than a spell in the second part of the first half, they didn't really do much to bother us what so ever.
I was working the game so I was sat right beside the dug out therefore I had my view impeded for the goals however from the build up and stuff neither appeared to be that spectacular, in fact the second appeared scrappy from what I saw, what with the ball bouncing around in the box. What did impress me however is how freely the youngsters went about putting the ball around on the deck.
Che Adams started relatively sharp however wasn't really much of a stand out player considering his manager was watching from the stands. His work rate however was second to none as he chased the ball around left to right whenever Huddersfield were in possession at the back. The couple of chances he had tested the keepers wrists but weren't clinical enough. Nothing stand out really.
Kennedy and McGahey at the back were a pretty steady and solid partnership. Pretty much everything that went up in the air was dealt with comfortably by the two central defenders however I might add that to be fair the opposition didn't ask too many questions of them.
Reed made a couple of composed passes in the middle of the park but didn't do enough to warrant any major mention for his part in the game. He wasn't poor but he wasn't stand out either, just a steady game.
I just want to make a mention for the goalkeeper Ramsdale who pulled off a couple of decent stops as well........
Other points:
Adkins went up into the stands early doors to watch the game and then McCabe followed him a short while later. It might be also worth waiting that at one point both went back down in to the stands and then a bloke came out with a clipboard with a printed email of some sort on it. This was taken up and relayed to McCabe which gave me some optimism that some sort of business might be going on behind closed doors.
Paul Coutts turned up to the ground at half time in his white car and went straight into the South Stand. I'm not sure why? I though he would be off into the stands to cheer on his team mates however I didn't see him so god knows? Are there any plans to offload him?
It was also nice to see ex blade Danny Webber sat in the stands watching the team as well. Not sure who he was there to watch but never the less it was nice to see him.
