Didn't Hackford play at Palace once?

I've limited it to this season.

Hackford did play a few minutes at Palace in 20/21 (and had just about our only shot if my memory serves me) but that was part of Wilder being a bit of a dick about transfers and the squad. He's a prospect but that was very much in at the deep end. I don't think he'd made his 21s debut at that point.

It did feel a little like Wilder pulling the old school trick of either naming not enough players on the bench or such an inexperienced lad, in order to say "look, I need help from the Boardroom".

He didn't let himself down though and had a shot.

Fingers crossed we do make it into the Prem but it's highly likely we will have a whole bunch of lads gaining EFL experience next season.

Hopefully these will progress to be serious 1st team options a year later (back in Champ worst case?)

I'd hope Osula, Blaster & Brooks get a season in the Champ. Neal & Boyes L1 plus Marsh & Hackford getting taste of mens footy in L2 to toughen them up.

I'm sure I've missed some out but it's really pleasing to see the development of some of this attacking talent.

I can't see Billy getting more than a 1 year extension to a playing contract, can you?
But if he's been doing his badges, what a forwards coach to this young crop he could be....

It really was great, wasn't it?, crisp passing, tackling, some great balls forward and four good goals.

If Jebbison is injured, we should look at Will Osula on the bench, he is a real handful at times.

But all-in-all, a very promising line up of young talent.
