First of all, apologies for the sparse updates if anyone was following them last night. Because the side consisted of U16s, U15s and a couple of U14s it was a bit of a struggle to find out who was who and it would have been a waste of everybody's time. The main U18 side is travelling to Crewe on Wednesday, which I found out whilst hunting for a teamsheet for last night's game!

This was the line up in a 4-4-2, if anyone can fill in the gaps then feel free:

1. Jake Eastwood
2. ??? - I'm sure I refereed him in an U14 game earlier in the season.
3. Jack Waters
4. Louis Reed
5. Ioan Evans (c)
6. ???
7. ???
8. Fahad Ishmail
9. Jake Wright?
10. Dan Cockerline?
11. Kier Heh

Subs: The only one I knew was Dom-Calvert Lewin.

I have to say, some of these lads more than held their own and were actually on top in the second half against a much more experienced Barnsley side. We got it on the deck, passed it well and had plenty of movement and support. They were desperately unlucky to concede the last minute goal, it looked like we were the side who would take it but Barnsley got that bit of luck to get the win. There were much more positives than negatives to take though.

The stand out players for me were Reed and Ishmail in the middle of the park, the former is an excellent little player. He looks to dictate the game and he has a great eye for a pass, a bit on the short side but he has plenty of time to be built up physically.

Ishmail was taller, and had a bit more pace. He preferred to run at players but he also picked out a few decent passes last night too. With him, Ben Whiteman and Connor Dimaio challenging for centre mid in the U18s next season we'll have some decent options.

Who was the manager? And who will be managing the U18's on Wednesday?

The side is on the official site now. Looks like a lot of youngsters, trialists etc.

I see Jordan Slew's brother came on.

Joe Cheeseman scored, I wonder if that's Gareth Cheeseman's son. :)

Slowly but surely filling in the gaps, number 7 was Danny Ramsey.

Jorome Slew (Yes, Jordan's younger brother), and Roger Bushiri were both brought on.

So it is. It's not like the OS to be so up to date!

Here's the line up from the site, I wasn't too far off:

Blades: Rouse, Charlesworth, Waters, Reed, Evans, Cheeseman, Ramsey (Calvert-Lewin 64), Ishmail, Wright (Slew 84), Cockerline (Bushiri 66), Heh.
Unused: Peace-McDonald, D. Parkin, M. Parkin.

Daz, as usual, has covered pretty much everything, but in the interests of accuracy... It was bloody cold in the shade!
