A Sidibe free kick for 2-0 but they’ve pulled a goal back on 58 minutes.

I’m thinking about going to watch them tomorrow, I’ve only ever watched the U21’s before, who should I be keeping an eye on? Does it cost to watch?

Word of warning from an old hand. Check Social Media tomorrow if you can...

Be Behind Closed Doors that one...

Midweek Day games are sometimes deemed Behind Closed Doors because, in this particular aspect, the Club are a Fucking Joke.

I could be wrong, but thought I'd better heads up.
Cheers for that. Just checked and it is. I can’t understand why we’d do that ?! Is it to stop scouts turning up?

The basics are .... whoever makes the decisions about Shirecliffe are shit scared of any fans being on site when a first team squad player is also on site. They will sometimes deal with that by simply playing games behind closed doors. At other times, they make any fans gather in one place, and be escorted up to the pitch as if it's a Milan Derby Bubble Match. Sometimes, they put wristbands on fans to identify them so that first team squad players can feel safer. On occasions the only way they will let you use the toilet is if you go out of one gate, walk along the roads, and come back in another gate. Some of the Firm park their cars so they can DRIVE to the toilets at half time.

It's a laugh actually. The Stewards tell you any old shit. Child Protection. Data Protection. I always show them something on my phone, and then say I was actually responsible for drafting that legislation, and it was not intended for this sort of occasion. It's not their fault. But it's all part of the game.

They tell you you need a Match Pass. You ask to see an example of one. And of course there's no such thing. I am known by my friends as - Terry Kennedy's Dad and/or Jake Eastwood's Dad as those were my preferred aliases for Blagging in.

Scouts will be welcome. The Firm has accredited Scouts among our number, they'll be there. It's just FANS they don't want in.

Fridays U21’s match against Cardiff will be the same I presume..
I went to the U21’s against Brentford a few weeks ago and a few of first team players about in the stands, Brewster/Blaster while wilder was in the directors box last seat so was easily accessible for a handshake and a selfie if anyone really wanted one which to my surprise they didn’t

Friday might be different, because the first team squad may have already fucked off to Portsmouth. Depends what side of Bed the Shirecliffe Clipboard gets out of.

I was once denied access to Shirecliffe on foot. But was told if I'd arrived by Car they would let me in. The next car at the gate was a mate. I motioned him to wind the window down, I got in, exactly at the spot they denied me entry, and we were waved in....

If this was a Man U/Exeter/fulham/gravesend forum wouldn’t believe you… however this is Sheffield United we’re talking about and I hold your words as gospel !

I have arrived at SUFC Academy Games at Watford (Vicarage Road), Crystal Palace (Dulwich Hamlet) and Millwall (Calmont Road Training Ground) to be told - sorry Behind Closed Doors.
I approach these problems as "humourous". I watched all three games.

Can I just say .... we have excellent Social Media coverage of our Academy Teams, with a dedicated journalist, so at least we normally know in advance that games have been declared Behind Closed Doors, and we can plan (or not) accordingly. Gone, thankfully, are the days of just turning up & hoping. That is very much a positive.
