Williamson had a spark this current team certainly lacks but he could never bring it when we needed it. A listless display at Wembley and a poor penalty are proof of that. The obnoxious way he burnt all his bridges at the Lane go to confirm that no, I don't miss him.

Lowton added a lot going forwar last season and he's made the jump up the Leagues better than expected (although he's hardly a rock at the back). His defending however was often woefully inadequate and frequently cost us points. On top of that his moment of rash petulance at home against Oldham cost us certainly three, possibly even six points. We're still counting the cost of that stupid challenge in my opinion.

And no, I don't hold with the argument that I should miss Lowton because McMahon and Westlake are so poor. Just because I've broken my leg doesn't mean I'm all misty-eyed and nostalgic about the time I sprained my wrist.
