Twitter Says Gary Hoopers is in talks

Odds on it are out at 2/1 - think the very fact that we're in talks with this calibre of player says a lot about us not fucking around this season
 

He might cost a lot, even just for a season long loan, but another season in league one will cost us more.
I agree, even just setting our sights this high is a positive. That said-positives aren't going to score us 20+ goals a season. We need to be capturing some of these targets

Odds when it comes to the blades mean absolutely nothing . Lets hold our powder until they sign on the dotted line . Could be a season long loan with option to buy . If Norwich are feeling generous , they may help with the wages . We may finish up owing Delia , Norwich board , his agent , and him personally a big thank you . if it comes off .

As you say , even being rumoured with this calibre of player , shows our intent and we mean business .

Celtic are after him as well though and there's speculation they may do some sort of deal with Virgil van Dijk going to Norwich
 
To be fair, most people had the same attitude with Adkins - "he's too good for us", what's the difference here really?

Not to say I believe the rumours though.
 
He played 32 times in a promotion winning side and got 12 goals in the Championship & he's rumoured to be on £45-£50k per week. Why the chuff would he consider coming to us? He's 28, he'll be looking for his last big move.

People need their bumps feeling if they think there's a grain of truth in this.

I'm not saying I remotely believe the rumours but there is the Adkins factor.

Lee Turnbull also helped him establish his career at Scunthorpe so that could add to it.

Have to completely agree. Stinks of a made up rumour that has simply rolled and rolled. Cannot see how this transfer would be possible.

Edit* - interesting post on Jim Phipps' Facebook page re: Sharp and Hooper. Neither confirms or denies it but tries to cool the rumour mill a bit.

Times have changed. We live in an age of social media and there are just as many reasons to communicate this way with fans as there are not to.

This comes from someone who isn't much of a fan of social media in general.

If I was the manager I wouldnt like anyone from the board to give clues in public about my targets. How many clubs does the same?
