i think we took howard for granted. and some were even saying he wasnt good enough at this level. but having turner in net for a fair few games now have realy shown us we have a good keeper in howard and should stick with him.
not that i think turner is bad but howard is definetly better

If you are implying the sun was to blame for the 2nd goal then I have to disagree. The sun was over the SS/Westfield corner and was not in his sight lines for the shot. Turner moved left to anticipate a ball to the far post - the kid that scored saw this and caught Turner out with quick and clever thinking (with a strong wind behind him).

Sure Turner was a fault but it wasn't the sun for the goal.

Clough has said that Long went out on loan to get the first team football he needs at this stage in his career. I think that's a fair point.

Fair point. Afaict he's been out on loan at Motherwell for their last four games. If Howard/Turner doesn't Get Well/Better Soon then maybe we'll see Long again. Motherwell might not be too happy though, their goal difference is -30 odd and Long is only responsible for -1 of that.

Was that the goalkeeping coach who threw a baseball cap at Turner today after one of the goals , certainly wasn't happy whoever he was and, seemed to cause a massive overreaction from some of the stewards, think he escaped their clutches though.

My mates on the Kop, who sit in the block behind the goal (and in the sun) said it was defo due to no baseball cap. That thought crossed my mind but as I was on the Lane end couldn't say for definite.

Wasn't long ago when I saw a post stating that we're lucky to have 2 good, equal keepers. I agreed with it at the time because Turner's performances prior to recently had been decent but I really don't know where his confidence has gone.

Im afraid blaming the sun is a cop out. For a start, te ball was on the right, the sun wasn't. Even if the sun was a factor, a professional goalkeeper should prepare for this.

It was an absolutely abysmal piece of goalkeeping and honestly im usually quite generous.

my apologies - just I had a fella at the side of me giving it the wear a cap thing for the 2nd goal when it was just poor goalkeeping.

The first wasn't good either - beaten at near post............hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

The difference was that they put their shots just inside the post, i.e. ON target, whereas our shots were generally wide of the post on high into the stands, i.e. OFF target.

Maxwell also made two very good saves.
