Last season I think we had one of the worst records in the league of securing any points when we had fallen behind, I think our only win coming against Charlton at home. This season we have already secured draws against Leicester after being 1-0 down, and against WBA after twice falling behind, as well as beating Reading. This could be massively important if we keep it up over the season, especially if we can keep our record last season of only failing to win I think one match when we had been winning (Palace at home).

Seems typical of the Blackwell way, we're better away, we're better when the chips are down. What we have yet to master is getting out of the traps quickly and putting teams under pressure, especially at home. We won't lose many this season but it remains to be seen whether we have that extra bit of quality to win enough of the tight games.

The question should be why do we fall behind in the first place? We cant keep having to come back all the time. Especially at home when teams will sit back after taking the lead.

Leicester, deflected free kick.
West Brom, defensive howler.

We'll get our luck, don't worry..

Maybe a bit tongue-in-cheek that Dunc but it's been a consistent feature under Blackwell of us playing for half a game, generally the 2nd half. It's as if he tells us to keep it tight in the 1st half and don't get adventurous until the 2nd half, or we go a goal behind.

I've said it before but it used to be guaranteed at BDTBL in years gone by that we'd go at teams for the 1st 10-15 minutes. I remember feeling worried if we weren't in front by 3.15 thinking we'd thrown everything at them and nothing to show for the pressure.

Blackie's tactics are no doubt safety first which is fine provided you have the match winners to make a difference where it matters. I think we are better placed this season and are more attack minded playing the likes of Treacy and Wardy etc out wide but we're still short you know where.

Safety first won't work against the unclean ,Buffalo head had them come at us right from the start in both matches last season.

I thought we were quite bold and attack minded first half, then faded a bit after the break as they reorganised a bit...
