In the NewBri game Alan Smith said one of the teams had an overlapping center back just like Chris Wilders Sheffield United. I was dosing and didn't see who.

I honestly believe we have revolutionised the game as much as Barcelona did under Pep!

To be fair, we haven't ;) , CWAK have. A bit early yet but it looking good. Especially considering the cost of the squad. Might be a while before other teams are able to catch up.

I look forward to seeing overlapping centre-backs in the champions league next season. The world of football will slowly catch on to what we are doing 😂
I don’t.
When more teams copy it , opposing managers will develop techniques to counter it and we will lose a big advantage.

We’ll have moved on by then. But for now it still works

Have you not watched how we’ve played for the last 3-4 years?

We’ve hit brick walls in league one and the championship where sides stifled us.

The one thing people know us for this season is the overlapping centre halves. It’s been talked up so much and we’ve hardly done it.

Today in the second half during a rare attack, JOC appeared completely unmarked in the box. Sides know what we do, but when they have lazy forwards that don’t track them or hand them over then they’ll always arrive unmarked.

This was evident in the palace game with zaha. He never followed Basham all game.

We'll get success out of this because forwards in this league don't like to graft.

Teams will start using it as well and of course it will become more difficult. However, there’s two reasons I think it will work well in the prem. perhaps better than the championship.
1) as I said forwards don’t work as hard in this division
2) defensively teams in this division are well organised. But from what I’ve seen so far in 6 games, the individual defenders are not as good or effective as the championship. I don’t think they’re as switched on if I’m honest.

Interesting to see how it goes against Liverpool, cos along with their obvious talent, Firmino is perhaps the hardest working forward in the league.

Atalanta already have after nabbing it off us and they got tonked by Zagreb in mid week. 😁

If we could get a bye into the CL next year how far could we go? I’m think quarters at least. Imagine Inter Milan trying to track our CB’s! It would be carnage!!!
