6 pointer in its self in my eyes, still think, but hoping im wrong, playoffs have gone though.

Play like today and we will be lucky to get a draw. If memory serves me well we have a poor record against them and this will be Cloughs Wembley final.

You're right, until our 3-1 win at Burton on November 17, 2017 we had never, ever beaten Burton in the league. In fact, until that win, we had never, ever scored a league goal against them in our entire history!

The good news is that we've only had 6 competitive matches against Burton Albion. Ever. :D

Seriously, this is one of those games that could go any of three ways - like most in the Championship. It's been an excellent re-entry into the Championship but I fear CW and the team are running out of steam and ideas. In the (extremely) unlikely event that we make the play-offs, we're in no psychological state to handle them.

Hardly. Every game left for Burton assumes epic importance. After their 0-0 draw at home to Bristol City yesterday, next up for them are - Blades (A), Wolves (A), Cardiff (A) and Middlesbrough (H). Games against their relegation rivals include Birmingham (A), Hull (H), Sunderland (A) and Bolton (H). Plus the small matter of a home game v. near-rivals Derby County on April 14. Looking at that little lot, I'd assume Burton are looking at this Tuesday's match as a 'much win'.

And - right on cue - Brewers' player Damien McCrory has said (re. yesterday's draw v. Bristol City):

“It is frustrating but as long as we are creating them, something is going to click at some point, and I feel that the performance when we score three or four goals is not long away.”

Absolute rubbish. Today was an excellent away performance where we totally dominated for the whole 90mins. Every player put a shift in on a terrible pitch. Same again Tuesday and we’ll be mighty unlucky not to get 3 points.

I was very confident of beating Ipswich until I saw the team sheet. Duffy out altogether so we stick Brooks and Holmes on the bench. FFS! Ched starting in front of Donaldson was a real head scratcer as well.
I don't normally criticise starting line ups but we were never going to create enough against a dogged McCarthy team.

For the love of God Chris do not go with that 11 on Tuesday. We need someone who can work in tight spaces and unpick them.

I thought the same as you before the match, but we created plenty especially in the second half, just couldn't finish it off in the box.

Ched played well too, he seems to have lost a bit of his upper body muscle which helps him play more how he used to

Tuesday is important for us as regards to a possible playoff spot. I've heard this six pointer quote since I was a young'n!!. But you only get 3 points for a win unless of course you're one of the S6 massive who are celebrating 6 points after yesterday's 1-1 win!!!!. UTB

If we want a playoffs spot, every game from now is a 6 pointer!

The ‘6-pointer’ cliche is a reference to the fact that in a match between two teams very close to each other in the league table, the team which wins not only gains 3 points, but also prevents the opposition gaining 3 points, which can be equally critical.

We are nowhere near Burton in the league table and whether they gain points is irrelevant to us, therefore it is not a 6-pointer.

I would take half of those 6 points up for grabs tuesday.and not a point less.lets hope coughs side go for a Burton.so to speak

If it's six points for a win do we get 3 for a draw and 1 if we loose.

Looking back at the Hull game you can see why CW acted as he did, 1 or 3 points from that game would be really handy now.

We can still make play offs, not just 6th place up for grabs either

That's irrelevant. It's not a six pointer. You obviously don't grasp the meaning of the expression.
Why do you think it isn't??
We need to win, we really need the points to stand a chance of the playoffs, don't win, and I believe it's done.

“A six pointer” is normally used when two teams around the same league position play each other, the logic being if you win you not only gain 3 points for yourself but deprive a rival of 3 - hence six pointer :) if we were playing Preston this week, for example.

Why's it a six pointer?
Likewise
Not that I know much about owt (or is it owt about much ?) Id always understood (sic) that a "six pointer" was when the 2 teams were 3 points apart whereby victory would leave the higher place team six points ahead ( & defeat leave you level)

Or is it summat to do with Israel ?
