He's in the top 1 of chairman we've ever had

Agree but there’s always an element of luck involved. There’s a lesson to be learnt in our manager appointments over the last 15 years.

The irony is when ever we’ve been ambitious regards big name managers it’s back fired on us.
Even our ambitious big money player signings haven’t tended to be too successful, our best signings have often been the cheaper players from the lower divisions.

When we were relegated in 2007 the club realised our National reputation was poor due to Neil Warnock.
McCabe wanted to expand and kind of, rule the world with his portfolio of foreign clubs in China, Hungary, Belgium, Australia.
So we appointed Robson who could make us sexy and higher profile (abit like Lampard or Rooney joining Derby).
There were doubts regards Robbo’s managerial ability, so the club covered that risk by bringing in the very highly rated Brian Kidd as assistant.
The idea was Robbo would be the front man attracting prestigious loanees with Kidd being more involved in tactics and coaching.
Think McCabe also thought he could attract more investment or link up with clubs with a world renowned Robson in charge compared to a Warnock.

After several close failures in league 1 the club decided on appointing the manager with “the best“ record.
So we persuaded Nigel Adkins to join us. I remember when we appointed him he was so positive and charismatic,
thought if Adkins can’t get us out of league 1 then no one can.

When we were recently relegated the club could have choose the cheap option and kept Hecky in charge in the Championship
but again we showed great ambition by appointing the manager with “the best“ record.
So we persuaded Jokanovic to come and even agreed to pay for own backroom team.

Robson and Jukanovic both tried to play this, keep possession , patient passing style.
Nice football, but too slow and little goal mouth action. Totally different to the high octane previous styles under Warnock and Wilder.

The times we didn’t show ambition and choose the cheap option.
Kevin Blackwell did a really good job in his first season resorting back to the Warnock style.
Chris Wilder came in with a great record but it was all in non league and league 2, so it was a big risk by the club.
Paul Heckingbottam came in when Jokanovic failed, again he just reverted back to a version of the Wikder formula.

All these 3 “cheaper option” managers where we’ve seen better results we’ve played more direct and quicker with more intensity.

Conclusion:
Show ambition, pay out big salaries, try to play beautiful football = FAILURE
Choose the cheaper option, go for hungry players, hungry manager, play more direct high intensity football = SUCCESS

Don't understand why people want to hear from him that much tbh.

I'd want him to be present if things weren't going well, and telling us what he's doing to put it right.

But, if we are flying, why should we need to hear from him? Just let the lads get on with it.

says a lot about his interest level when the owner being at his club’s game is news
He's said many times that he prefers watching on TV alone, out of preference/habit.

Even the commentators annoy him he said. Which begs the question, how the hell is Kevin Gage still employed by SUTV.

He said he watches ten screens at once with mute on....

I'm going to walk in front of him spreading petals and bowing whilst carrying 2 golden camels, hopefully somebody will film the episode for posterity.

Well if we did have a good song for him and it's broadcast all over Saudi, for all the billionaires to see such hero worship by "Westerners", then the PL investment might be a bit easier to get.

Done more for us in no time than every owner we've ever had before

So McCabe had no say in appointing Wilder or Warnock and getting us into the PL twice.

But HRH gets £ 300 million ish from our PL success and becomes the best thing since 3 ply bog roll ?
If we fail to get promoted this season then we will see how 'good' an owner he is or not.
