True or False —Takeover

1. This house people keep going on about might not even be his. The other executive at ClearTV has the exact same address listed, so it’s more likely the address of a third party/proxy; likely their accountant. It’s incredibly unusual for anyone to list their home address on filings, especially someone who has little else about them anywhere else.

2. The office suite that people seem obsessed with is the registered company address. It’s literally a post box for any filings and isn’t necessarily the main hub of the business. Below is an image of a huge company’s registered address - looks pretty modest too right?

Maybe there is something fishy with this guy, but focusing on addresses isn’t going to answer any of this.

The key to is the proof of funds and any background checks as part of the legal agreements for sale. Given Giansiracusa is a Partner at Jones Day and that the Prince lives in California and will undoubtedly have a large network who knows this guy, we in theory, shouldn’t worry about the validity.

If it was McCabe; a man who’d been outmanoeuvred many times, was selling, I’d be more concerned.
Fair points, well made

What we do have confirmed is the house of Saud have instructed the Prince to get rid of SUFC since they took over at Newcastle United and it looks to me like anywhere will do if they can come up with the money.

Whilst i agree that this has probably happened where has it actually been "confirmed"....?

Well I started off pretty upbeat about this and now I’ve read this thread I feel depressed. We’ve either got the most miserable fan base in the country or half of the employees of D&B turning up every Saturday (Sky dependent ☹️).Shall we just see what happens, if nothing else we know we’re definitely up for sale now and if this one doesn’t come off (like at Newcastle) then perhaps this will encourage other bids. When you look at other clubs that have been bought and invested in why shouldn’t we at some stage be a consideration? They must look at our history ( recent status) fan base and potential. We’re a club that hasn’t won a major trophy for nearly 100 years mainly due to diabolical ownership and yet look at the support we draw !!

No HB, change is not good.

There are hundreds of clubs that are better than us.

Why would anybody waste their money on us when they could spend it somewhere better.

If they modernise the kop and bring it up to 1990's standards that's me done with them.

It's not proper football unless you get piss on yer shoes from leaky bogs.

I'd rather watch us in non league than have one of these rich investors.

They'll put prices up, thee watch. I'd rather pay an average of £15 a game and watch this shit for the next hundred years than pay £25 and watch summat good.

I'd rather 12,000 proper Blades at t' ground like t' good old days than have 60,000 jonny come lately plastics.

We've done orreight doing it t' Blaayyydess Wahhhyy for years.

I know a bloke who has three carpet shops, started out wi nowt, and he's a Blade, he should run t' club

PS, just for the record I don't believe any of this takeover talk is true

A front for the Qatari's that tried to buy Newcastle then?
the Qatari’s didnt really try to buy Newcastle, they allegedly attempted to derail the Saudi bid via Mauriss due to the dispute of piracy (saudi) of Bein Sports (Qatar) and longstanding rivalries between the nations

So Mauriss is alleged to work for Qatar, which at the moment doesn’t make much sense considering our owner is Saudi and is most likely working under the instruction of the House of Saud.

Yep, looks like he is a bit of a chancer. But the majority of these 'business men' are. Its the first rule of big business: never use your own money, use finance or convince others that you have a golden goose and get them to invest.

The Prince and his team are exactly the same, but currently they have lost their bottle (or been told to pull out by bigger Saudis) and won't commit to spending a penny which is why Bash and Billy have been left without contracts and the infrastructure is literally falling apart. Without investment we are looking at stagnation or worse - whoever buys it will need to pump in quite a bit of investment to be profitable, and profitable is what they want to be, so I think there will be investment.

Given your passion for negativity it’s safe to assume you were digging up articles about how he spends half his time playing fantasy baseball, being friends with Bin Laden and reviews on low quality toilet rolls prior to the Prince taking over.
My passion for negativity = I don’t want us to be taken over by a con artist 😂

When your research makes you think he owns a huge office building in downtown Cali, I can understand why you don’t bother..:

Last night we found out the 2014 document (the one showing the Mortgage default) showed he was associated with Three Gals Company, there are two registered owners, Henry and Julie Mauriss. Assuming Julie his is spouse. The registered address of Three Gals is the house in question.

Plus I asked his neighbour next door and he said Henry often pops round to borrow a cup of sugar.

Good point , the address for my brothers business is the accountants he uses

So they’re still using the same accountant they did in 2014.

Or is Henry’s other exec at ClearTV living with them?

Is it the accountants house that is showing up as the companies address?

The number of times I have read this, it is almost Borisesque that it must be true. The number of times people get cash flow mixed up with profit and loss is astounding.

I thought United had already borrowed the money from a bank based on the value of the parachute payments? Essentially the money from the parachute payments has already been injected into the club. Spent. Is this wrong?

I’m confused. This seems to be the consensus:

1. There is no takeover bid
2. The man who hasn’t made the bid doesn’t exist
3. The man who doesn’t exist and hasn’t made a bid has a dodgy financial history
4. The bid that hasn’t been made is probably a leveraged buy out, proving that if the Prince accepts the non-existent bid from the non-existent man, the club could be ruined.

Well I for one am still excited.

We'll be sold but not to this guy, it's a front for either another buyer who is already lined up, or to push them into moving things along.

What they have done is borrow money up front guaranteed against future parachute payments. That is, if we default on the payment for any reason then the parachute payments will go straight to the loan company. It is a very common business practise. You build a hotel, open it and then borrow against the hotel to build the next one.
