There's quite a few of them for us at the moment, with Freeman, Coutts and to a lesser extent Scougall. I presume they now must surely be off that list by now?

Looking back has there other players who have transformed like they've done? Kenny was on the list for a while I recall but was banned a short while after.

Thank goodness no-one came in for them, was Wilder just fortunate or was it all part of the plan to kick them up the backside? Either way don't really care, time for luck to go our way once a while ;)

UTB!

Monty was put on the list the season we got promoted but ended up playing almost every game

Devlin was transfer listed and went on loan to Notts County at one point but came back to become a really important member of the team

There's no lesser about it where Stefan Scougall is concerned. He has been a revelation and deserves to be recognised as such.

Oh completely agree, it's just that he was transfer listed a while back and by a different manager. If we look more broadly are there many other examples in football where its worked? Main one I can think of is Xabi Alonso at Liverpool.

I think the feeling was when he first got here was that being a Blade, he'd have been following us closely since... forever and pretty much known where we've been lacking.

If any of us got put into that position at the end of last season we'd have said to all of them lads something along the lines of:

'I've watched you play throughout last season and I'm not convinced in your commitment to this club, you're going on the transfer list until you prove me otherwise. If you fail here, it'll all be downhill as far as your careers are concerned'

I don't think any of us expected the turnaround in performance from so many of our players. Thank you Chris, I hope you're here for long haul!

Ah right, now I get you. My bad!

Remember when loads on here were saying the job was too big for him?.............

Am I daft or was Chris Morgan transfer listed at one point? Standing hrre waiting to be corrected....o_O

Chris has been managing for some years and he will have learned a lot.
He new it really needed a good shake ( players) and some would fall through the net and some would survive to make a go of it,it has worked perfectly for him and we are reaping the rewards now.

Player management is crucial when building a squad, dovetailing remaining players with new ones is not easy but he has got it right very quickly after a difficult start which is remarkable really.
He's a tougher character than I and a few more thought with a pagent for playing aggressive attacking football
he's a winner,just what we've been looking for.

Similarly from the Warnock years Shaun Murphy was loaned out to Palace after a contract dispute I believe.

It was either a masterstroke....or a bit of luck.

Either way, we could do with Coutts at least tied to a new deal.
In the current side, and with this formation and style looking good going forward he is integral for this season....and if we are successful next season too.

John Joe O Toole was on the scrap heap and even loaned out by Wilder at Northampton before coming back into the fold and being a key player in their promotion.

And I'm wearing black undercrackers, but that also has no relevance to the opening Q.;)

In answer to the OP, my Dad, at least once? Chris Armstrong too?
