Trams suspended on Sunday?

Well maybe if you bothered to vote you could get rid of these backward leaders of Sheffield who collectively have held the city back for years...........just a thought?
I do vote , but in my lifetime, 68yrs, any other political party have never ever done anything that benefits the "Working" man.
I am now a pensioner, Labour have now decided that the Working man and its future "Pensioner's" don't have to be considered, or cared for!
So my vote now goes to "Reform", so i will now be titled as a Right wing racist!🤷‍♂️

Grow up.

When I was younger, I always voted Labour in general elections (83 on for me), but as soon as I could vote for Sheffield Council, I voted anything but. Sadly a hard core of inbred fuckwits, voting for the donkey with the red straw hat, mean that Labour will always be the major party in Sheffield. We are, what we are.

As Churchil said in 1947:

‘Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…’

No, I get that.

Speaking heretically, there is an argument that the deluded look forward, whereas we just know our place. I don't have a clue where where I'm going with this, and I'd always thought our grim realism held us in good stead, but maybe we should just dream.

In the words of Martin Luther King:

"I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and the pigs shall be so shafted that they never again dare reveal their trotterness, or summat."

Good bloke, that MLK.

Dr. King was a great man. Truly a great man*

It’d be great if the press engaged in some actual thought process when enquiring on these matters - asking him what difference it’ll make by there being fewer transport options/shoving people on a bus that’s more easily stopped than a tram.

Big Hat Ralph could ask him where he got his information from. (Probably at the Masonic Lodge)

I feel your frustration but in current times it doesnt matter what colour rosette controls your council, it will be full of incompetants, nepotism, cronyism and bizarre practices. For example I have a friend who is pretty high up in a multi-national company, works in procurement. His office is based within a Tory stronghold (where they could put up a donkey for MP and it would win so long as it was decked in blue) and he has taken on a few recruits from the council, one very recently. He says, while they were intelligent people, their idea of procurement practice was bizarre, as at the council they are 'encouraged' not to negotiate deals with suppliers! Obvs this doesnt work in the private sector so they are being trained to negotiate properly 🤣🤣

If I understand it correct, all he's done is put the risk on private companies (bus company), while keeping his/public owned supertram out of the way.

Let the private company pay for repairs IF things go wrong.

Oh and while protecting the public owned trams, hes potentially making things hard and possibly dangerous for the public who own the trams 🤷
