Hmmm... a bit of a conundrum this season.

Last summer, we'd have said Beattie.

Summer before that... probably Beattie and before that, Hulse.

But who have we got this season?

Is it really worth a cheeky fiver on Bromby? :D

Have to agree, Evans it has to be. He will need to justify his price tag. any less than 18 goals and i'll be disappointed

Blades Top Scorer 2009/10

I read the thread by Linz and thought a poll was the right thing to do. (Now i know how to do it!!)

Cast your votes now...

I vote Ward

All depends on the service he gets. I don't think he's a 'something out of nothing' player like Beattie was but if we have decent wingers and a few nice balls played through the middle he should gobble them up. Same goes for Hendo really. Really need around 30 goals between them in my view.

The midfield will have to step up to the plate too, for all the knocking Quinny gets his goal scoring record is really very good. Other than that, Howard & Monty's (although I let Monty off in a lot of ways) is pretty poor. Cotterill deserves praise for having the bottle to take all the pens but other than that never looks like scoring. Let's hope Kyel Reid is a goal machine.

We all hope Evans will be fit enough and sharp enough to get at least 20 goals this season, if not, what have we paid up to £3million?

Which should make him top goalscorer for us, unless, of course, our unknown No 8 pips him for that honour.

Be gentle first time poster

I was a lurker for years on BU but never posted and I am liking the look & vibe more on here already

I have got a £10 on Evans so hopefully he will deliver the goods and I agree with Santos about the midfield chipping in with more goals this year

Looks like Evans is the only sensible choice...

I'm hopeful that Howard might show some his his Dingle FA Cup run ability, and sneak into double figures

Gone for Billy S think he will surprise a few people this season. Don't know why just got a good feeling about him.

Ive gone for Ward, think he will find his feet more this season,

however i think that this is going to be largely based on the style of football played and the partnership that Blackie prefers

For all the time and effort (and money) it took to get Evans it'd better be him!!!
For all the derision he gets I have to agree with Mr Morgan and say Hendo is in for a good season too.

Now he's no longer in Beattie's shadow, as he was in the 1st half of last season, and with the wingers we've got I honestly think he'll get at least 15.

I had that feeling the last 2 seasons.....

Hendo for me won't get 15 goals, I'd say more around 9. Hope I am wrong though

I've gone with Bromby :)

Cant access betting account from work but sure it was 20/1 will check later

We're going to play flowing, expansive football with an emphasis on short passes along the floor. Our midfield will be hugely creative and Monty will provide over 60 incisive, defence-splitting through balls and lead the league on assists - and the pace of Wardy getting onto the end of these will make him the Championships top marksman.

Oh - is it that time already nurse??

Ive gone for the little man himself - Ward. Close call between him and Ched, I'm excited about Ched, but think that this season is the one for Jamie to shine.

Interesting that more people so far have gone for Bromby than our £2million striker Henderson. I went for Howard because I'm hoping we're going to be playing more football on the ground and fancy this to suit his game.

Also, how many of the people going for Evans have actually seen him play?

With the money he cost it Should be Evans!

But, I'm going to go for Ward, think this is just me hoping we will play football rather than hoof ball.
