Top half of the pitch taking shape?

I think it's pretty obvious that he doesn't want to be here. At that point it doesn't matter if he's a good player or not. We need to be building a positive atmosphere around the team again. I can only see him and Anel having a negative impact as they both think they're bigger and better than United. Sell them on and invest in players that want to be here and will give 100% each game
100% agree, but if they don't get a move away this summer is it better to try and bring them back into the squad or just have them sitting around losing value?

I get what you're saying. I know we potentially have that predicament. With the way we played last season I'm surprised anyone is interested in our players. But yes, I suppose we'd still have to keep them in the shop window. I'm just hoping it doesn't come to that.

Realise Vinis got his critics but anyone in the PL wanting to sign a defensive midfielder , rarely injured , PL experience with impressive stats ( which means more than it should) are going to have to pay £20m .
Anything like that and it's a good deal all round .

Wouldn't be suprised to see Hamer go now.

I would BB.
Apparently he's been keeping in touch with his mate from Coventry who's 'looking forward to recreating their Coventry partnership' here.
i dont think hamer is going anywhere now his mate has joined us anel souza and possibly bogle will be the 3 leaving
Hopefully, I don't mind Anel, Souza and Bogle going, non of them want to be here, and non are irreplaceable!

Dont forget, even if a club trigger his release clause, Hamer can still refuse the personal contract.

I think he'll look to stick it out for this season with his mate in the building and then review his situation.

Mmmm, maybe keep Bogle for me. He looked very good at times in the Champ. Possibly a bit suspect with his attitude though as you say.
Other two...see ya!

My made up team if we could get a few more quality players over the line. Not sure about RW, have we been linked with anyone who could play there? Rak-Sakyi? Small midfield but we’ve had Duffy, Fleck and Norwood before and I think we’d keep so much possession and creativity with that midfield. Full backs could be different if Bogle goes and also could be Burrows at LB but a pretty decent side imo - finally taking shape, nice to see us all feeling optimistic for once 😂

I'm still not sure I like Hamer in the 2, his attacking output seems a bit wasted there.

I would put Hamer as the 10 and then have O'Hare as a AMR rather than an out and out RW

Yeah I was in the same thought but wanted him more as a classic 8 driving forward with Arblaster as a deep playmaker, but I’d be just as happy with him as a 10 and o’hare out wide if we (most likely) don’t get BBD back

We signed Hamer based on his performances playing in a midfield 2 with O'Hare ahead of him. If we play 3-4-1-2 (like Coventry did), the midfield picks itself.

I'm more concerned by the defence. If we're going 4 at the back, Bogle and McCallum might struggle and Jack Robinson isn't a CB in a two.

I would also be concerned at the lack of pace and mobility in that centre back pairing in a four. You could play either or of them but I would want someone a little quicker at the side of them.

If we have Bogle McCallum/Burrows as conventional full refundbacks, then we definitely a good defensive midfielder to give the defense a bit of security.

I still think Vini will be starting our first game of the season.

I think you'll probably end up being right. Tbh I don't think an additional CM is something we will prioritize despite people clamoring for one (unless Vini is sold)

We have Souza, Shackleton, Slimane, Davies (if ever gets fit) who can all slot in to varying degrees.

The midfield for the midfield 2 we have

Arblaster / Souza / Slimane / Davies.

With it sounding like Bogle leaving Shackleton would become our starting right back.

if were going 4231 think hamer and o'hare have to be in the 3 behind moore other spot will probably be a new signing possibly either rayi-saki or fabio carvalhio or maybe even traore we need a big physical midfielder to play in the 2 with arblaster when souza has gone
