Quiz: the last 6th placed Championship team that went up through the playoffs and what season?
Blackpool in 2010? I seem to remember we had beaten them 3-0 at home with a few games to go and they were 8th/9th. Then they came from nowhere to snatch sixth?

You can always find statistics to back any claim.
Mine are 3 points from our last 6 away games.
All I'm saying is that we are quite capable of putting in a decent performance away from home. In that run of 6 that you cite, the only real shitshows were v Millwall and Coventry - the point at Huddersfield was respectable, Stoke we were unlucky to leave with nowt, Blackpool we were robbed, Bristol we were the better side.

For me our realistic route to the PO final is getting a tight win at BL in the first leg then parking the bus for a draw in the second leg. Hard to believe after the Reading fiasco but we are a very hard team to score against, just look at Fodders' clean sheet record, by far the highest clean sheet percentage of any keeper in Championship history (ie since tier 2 was renamed, yes I know it's an arbitrary time frame, but still impressive).

Yep! In the last 20 seasons 8 teams going up have been 3rd, 3 teams 4th, 6 teams 5th and 3 teams 6th.

Don’t agree

We have a very capable defence , especially with Bash back . We have a good midfield ,if they are all firing , in Norwood fleck and Berge . We have billy back , IN finding form and MGW one of the best players in this league . Agree that there are a few ifs in there but on our day we are a match for anyone .

I think we can do it but so what
You can have all the individual components you want but we have a soft under belly. We look excellent in possession but against the better teams we look awful out of it.

Good points made but then throw in the Tactical Motivator that is our manager and your reasoning goes out the window

Oh come on you cant defend those performances at Huddersfield ( set up for a draw and should have lost as they had a legit goal wiped )and especially Stoke regardless of a penalty claim we were shit mate and they could have had 3/4 more in that second half boring slow predictable cautious football. Blackpool was turgid , though we had a legit goal wiped off, Derby same. Teams let us have the ball as we are so bloody predictable ........ but get a cautious manager who starts with the 1 point you get clean sheets.

Which 'legit' goal was that?
The one where the forward was offside, or the same one where he was obstructing the goal keeper?

It's all abart opinions, init!

We've lost twice in nine games against the current top 6. Not exactly signs of having a soft underbelly against the better teams.

When it comes to it we will crumble… we look panicked when not in possession and struggle

We don't have VAR! so rely on the ref making the correct decision, or not!!
Do you think nketia is in the keepers line of vision ?
There should never be a “goal” chalked off again for someone being stood offside after that decision on Saturday!

I totally agree with you, but was pointing out that decision making by referees with or without VAR is quite poor at the moment.

I'm not clever enough to work out how the governing bodies can make it better though.

Blackburn found some form. 4-1 up at Preston moving them to within 3pts and 1 behind us on GD. 😬

In reality they are now ahead of us on goal difference.

If we lose 1-0 to QPR....then Blackburn can afford to win there next game by any score, even if they scrape a 1-0 win in their next game at home to Bournmouth
then us and Blackburn are all square but they go ahead of us by a ONE goal better GD.

We haven't won away this year or played really well. I'm at a loss as to why people think we will win at QPR our home form isn't much better and people are convinced we will end with 73 points. o_O o_O

Peterborough & Birmingham?

Are they?

Yes...we lose our next match (any scoreline).....they win their match (any scoreline) they go above us on goal difference.
I was thinking a draw at QPR might be a decent result but we could do with 3 points really.

We don't want to be playing Fulham knowing we must win to stand a chance but still looking over our shoulder at other results.

We have to beat QPR on Friday end of story. If we do it then puts pressure on Luton who are away to Fulham on Sunday, however if Blackburn win then i don't fancy having to beat Fulham on final day of season. 2 nil against QPR would settle my nerves a little. However I actually don't fancy our chances in play offs anyway so part of me doesn't give a f**k anyway 🤔😅

Their next game is Bournemouth at home.

Hopefully a draw at least and we beat QPR. That would put them out of reach.

End of the day we have 69 points. The chasing pack are not guaranteed to reach that. We are!
