......and we need a Brian Deane

Any ideas?

btw I'm not being mardy, I'm loving it at the moment, but just saying............who takes us to promotion and who steps up if Sharp gets injured?

Stop thinking the worst ffs!
What's wrong with people, top of the league and still a sour grape to throw out of the bag.

I'm not thinking the worst, just looking for ways to really hammer this league - never stop improving. Let's be honest there isn't a powerful central striker at the club and if Sharp gets knobbled Freeman is our best hope for a goal, and most on here were happy that we were going to let him go.

We do need another striker capable of 15 + goals from now until the season just in case owt happens to Sharp.

Well why wouldn't they want to be Tony if Harry's going to kiss them (or Chris).

We definitely need to insure ourselves in January against the possibility of losing Billy for any length of time by signing a goalscorer. The problem we may have is convincing anyone to come. Billy is at his best as a main striker with support from water carriers. Anyone who comes in as a contingency against our losing Billy for any reason is probably going to have to dislodge him as opposed to partner him. A daunting prospect.

If I was Scunny or Bolton manager I'd be looking at next month and saying look guys if we knobble this lad we can overhaul them, and if they did that we'd be in a similar situation as a few years ago when Evans got banged up and we had no replacement. With a game at MKD at the end of the season (remember that day down there?) I just don't want a similar result because we don't have strength in depth in the striker department. This is our best season for years - I just want the end result to be what we all crave.

UTB!

Deano was brought in from Donny reserves as a back up gamble. Circumstances gave him a start and by god he took the chance. Who knows how many really raw centre forwards there are out there with potential. Hopefully we're looking :)

Omar Bogle worth a punt for me, 6 ft 2, direct, powerful, pace and scoring for fun.

Would he come to sit on the bench until Sharp gets injured? Or do Sharp's running for him?

For me we need a winger and / or another attacking centre mid who can play the second striker role. Someone to change things up.

He'd do the Leon Clarke job a million time better than Leon Clarke.

Would Omar Bogle come to top of the league Sheffield United from League two shit hole Grimsby?

Not sure that question really needs answering! But I can confidently say that he would come to sit on the bench and fight for a place if he's confident in his ability.
Of course if we were bidding alongside high end champ and premier league teams then no.....but I don't think he's done enough to justify a bid from that end of the league.
Kemar Roofe got a big money move to Leeds and has hardly set the world alight, and he was doing more in the season before his move than Bogle is.

So we are likely to be the biggest club to come in for him (hypothetically speaking) fi you consider that low end Championship is both a risk of coming down and generally a less attractive club than us too. We would be decent payers wage wise, on the up, and give him the platform to raise his profile in the game.

It would be a no brainier for him if we actually bid.
