Someone posted in another thread a study that showed there's no negative effect on league performance from being in Europe. Sometimes teams just have a poor season and Europe gets blamed.

I haven't seen a reason other than the misguided perception that teams in the Europa league suffer in the domestic league. But as I said, the numbers show that isn't actually the case.
