so what is the issue?
The issue is that people hear what they want to hear. To defend the OP slightly, we've had an entire generation of people hating us and we're not used to it.

Not wound up at all, just thought he came across a bit of a burk.Dont listen to Talk Shite and I dont give a flying fuck what anybody on that media outlet says about us
I dont get why people such as yourself get so wound up about it
Facts are we are overachieving. As a club, we are in uncharted territory and if it was Villa or Norwich in our position right now I would be inclined to think they'd slip away.
If there's a Roygbiv on other club forums - they might think we are a sensitive, defensive bunch that twists anything aimed at our club into criticism.
Yes getting a bit silly these threads when a pundit says something we don't like. The bloke said he doesn't think we'll qualify for Champions League. We're now getting arsey about that?? I do listen to TS. Cascarino loves us and Wilder. Think he predicted 100 points first season back in the Champ when we got off to a good start but obviously that didn't quite come off. He seems to be good mates with Wilder he was up the other week for a match and apparently boozing in Wilder's office with him til 3am. And he's not a lazy pundit just turning up and spouting bollocks he seems to be a football obsessive who spends all week watching any football he can find on TV.I'm sorry but do we have to get annoyed at reasonable comments all the time if they're not licking our arse vigorously.
A few of our fans seem determined to emulate the pig attitude they've long laughed at.
When we start defining ourselves by the achievements of our team and not the opinion of those who are paid to be controversial. At what point does overachievement become achievement ?

When people stop underestimating you.At what point does overachievement become achievement ?
Agree with every thing you say here, except the last five words. Even if these teams re-muster they will still have a fight on there hands, what happens if United(The Original) kick up a gear (new players to integrate). Please don't belittle United with so many variables in place.5th place brings a lot more clubs into play, even possibly Arsenal. Everton will be licking their lips at an opportunity that would have seemed ridiculous a month ago, Man U can rescue themselves etc, etc.
These are clubs with better players, if not necessarily a better team. If they're motivated to get their acts together they will finish above us.
Oh dear, am I bovered! He’s entitled to his opinion man. Don’t let it bother thee
Casc is really good mates with Wilder and has been one of the very few people praising Wilder before it was popular to do so.
Have to say, that series on Sky about Chernobyl was superb.Chill out people. A little bit of more critical analysis of us is desperately needed, amongst the mass of gushing praise and adulation
If it was wall-to-wall praise, S6 would disappear in a Chernobyl-type meltdown. This is a safety measure by Cascarino.
