Let me guess...

"Chris Wilder is just so phenomenal, I don't know why tops clubs haven't come in for him and I don't know why he hasn't left Sheff United, it's not fair..."

Nope.

Obviously there are still doubters, and people who just can't help it.

I think it's great these experts keep doubting us. Wilder loves it and keeps using it as additional motivation.

You do know it is perfectly possible for people to have a different opinion to you & NOT be a bell end don't you?

I believe Cascarino is a friend of Wilder & is certainly one of the people bigging him & our achievements up the last three years, & in any case I don't see what is wrong with what he has said. It would be an extraordinary feat should we do it so what is the issue?

What does overachieving actually mean. Youve fucking achieved it so you havent over done it.
Silly bastard, just coz youve a ballroom dancers name. Barry Manilow should write a song about him.

Based on the pre-season comments from most pundits, finishing 19th would be over-achieving.

It’s just a less flattering way of saying exceeding expectations.

Cas is a friend and advocate of Wilder...he’s not wrong, if we keep this up it would be extraordinary. Under Wilder we have a habit of being extraordinary.

So which of you listened to him earlier?

Don’t you love the word “overachieved”....such a back handed compliment.

Basically says to me that the players aren’t very good, when a more realistic word would be undervalued or underestimated.

Those lads like Fleck, Norwood, Egan, Baldock and Stevens were ALWAYS good enough, they were sadly just failed by poor coaches and managers when younger so they didn’t reach their full potential until a genuine quality manager was able to see what they were able to do and get the best from them to see their potential.
Fact is there are hundreds maybe thousands of lads like that in the country

When CW took over in L1 we didn’t think we’d be challenging for a CL spot in February 2020, that’s overachieving our expectations. Anyone who expected us to be where we are back when CW came in is talking shite.

I can’t see us keeping it up until the end of the season and playing in the CL next season. If we do, great. What he’s said is spot on imo.

We've bobbed along all season between 5th - 8th, I'll go for a finish of between 5th - 8th ... though usually wilder gets his team's firing stronger second half a season, so maybe 4th???

He's right though.
If 5th is up for grabs for the Champions League the big boys will be busting a gut for it and we won't finish above all of them.
Finishing between 9th and 12th is probably most likely and is still a fine achievement.
What’s different to a normal Saturday then? Busting a gut? Get a grip

He's done nowt but been halfway up our and Chris Wilder's arse all season, and was just about the only media figure before the season started saying we'd be fine, give the bloke a break.

All this Durham, Danny Mills, Garth Fucking Crooks, "We're only sixth on the Match of the Day running order" chip on shoulder shite needs putting to bed now. We've probably had the most positive media attention in our history this season, just enjoy the moment generally for fuck's sake

I'd like to use the term (and I'm sure CWAK would agree) of achieving ahead of schedule. I'm sure the Wilder 10 year plan had qualifying for Europe in there somewhere.

Agree....Cas is always bigging up Chris Wilder....
it’s been so over the top in the past year giving gushing praise towards Wilder that his fellow presenters tease him that there’s some man love going on.

Also using logic most of our players are over achieving....its rare that players with a lower division pedigree perform well in the PL.
I still say if we sold most of our players to any other PL team they’d be played differently and be no where near as good.
Wilder is setting up tactics and giving them roles where all their strengths are being used with their weaknesses rarely exposed.

5th place brings a lot more clubs into play, even possibly Arsenal. Everton will be licking their lips at an opportunity that would have seemed ridiculous a month ago, Man U can rescue themselves etc, etc.
These are clubs with better players, if not necessarily a better team. If they're motivated to get their acts together they will finish above us.
