1. If VAR is going to run offsides for goals, get rid off Linesman - they have no purpose anymore and only confuse matters
2. Teams will sit back now and punish us on the break - we have always struggled when teams sit back, figure out a plan B
3. We are in a relegation dog fight despite the start to the season - 17th place must remain the goal
4. We need a Basham replacement in January - not good enough
5. Billy can't hack it at this level at this stage in his career - need to sign another striker

I think that's accurate.

Although I'd add that we need to sign a midfielder who is a threat with long range shots. and/or can dribble past players. We have no one who can unlock a well drilled defence. I think we hoped Morrison might be that player, but that looks unlikely at the moment

8. 9. And 10. VAR IS FUCKING WANK!

You had me until point 4

First rule - play to the whistle

A midfielder who can race down the centre of the pitch and break into the box, at which point anything can happen, not just playing out to the sides for the whole game.

Learning point from tonight, the players should walk off the pitch after that sort of shambles from the officials.

We do need to score early against park the bus sort of teams. We did it to Burnley, who had we given them a break they would have done the same as Newcastle.

Disagree....don’t believe that many managers in the PL will deliberately design ultra defensive/ negative “park the bus” tactics when playing Sheff United.
Imagine the shame....coming to Bramall Lane and parking the bus? However Steve Bruce is thick skinned and has no shame.

The current fashion in the PL is to play open expansive/ attractive football.
Managers that play football like Newcastle did tonight don’t tend to last long.

We need to start winning at home where we should be difficult to beat.
Is our crowd not intimidating enough to refs and opposition an interesting comment from Wilder post game on RS. "If that had happened at Newcastle there would have been 55 -60 thousand mad Geordies going absolutely crackers."

Only Southampton have lost more Premier League games at home with 5 losses . Blades have now lost 4 at home.

We've lost as many games at home as we've won total. On the flip side, we haven't lost away at all.

Make no mistake though, we are in a relegation battle until we're not. People were getting bullish about this mid-week but we're no more than a couple of performances like that from trouble. We can't trade in plaudits and praise from neutrals for points, sadly.

I actually agree apart from about Basham, although due to his age will no doubt not be around too many more years.

9. We are a team of championship players playing out of our skins
