Got to pull out fingers out now and match on.

We should be on at least 29 points. Spilling a two goal lead and also missing a penalty was an unbelievable throwaway at the weekend and Basham inexplicably going walkabout when we were ahead vs Birmingham was unacceptable.

We need to put this behind us now and put some wins on the board. Obvious I know but excuses for the manager and players will be running low. Even QPR we had double the chances and Stoke was a low based on the side we had to put out and the fact we hit the post at a key moment.

We can finally put a decent defence together with Anel back and with Stevens, Fleck and Clark close we should be able to have a solid matchday squad too.

No more excuses. We're missing some decent players but we have good enough players available now to get the defensive record back to early season and kick on. We thrashed Blackburn and they have gone top. We are a much more capable team. Let's not let this slip now. It's absolutely primed for us to get our shit together and streak ahead with the squad we have.

No more messing about now lads. Let's have a string of performances before the World Cup.

I feel there is little actual perspective at the moment. The worst mistake our manager seems to have made is doing well and now the expectation is to win every game.

Players are likely to make mistakes and play poorly in an unsettled side. When's the last time we fielded an injury unchanged team?

Name a better squad in the division than ours.

Having seen the rest so far, over the course there’s no way Burnley have enough goal scorers in their squad to finish first.

Norwich remain poor in defence as they do most campaigns.

Watford have dangers up top but have given us a head start and are also inconsistent.

Blackburn as as poor as they are good and have lost 7 times already. It’s only their imbalance of games which puts them anywhere near top.

We just need to settle down now. I’m confident each match day we can put out a better team than the opposition.

We’ve had a little blip for various reasons but we can’t wallow in it. We need to go out there with the arrogance of a team that doesn’t belong in this division and doesn’t wish to hang about either.

Pleased we have Anel back. That gives us a good defence and a bonus added to the attack. We need Fleck back in to keep Doyle and Norwood fresh.

We should be able to keep scoring with the striking options we have right now. N’Diaye on 6 and McBurnie on 5 is already promising.
 
Yes, a few wins would come in handy, as Blackburn have proven? A settled starting line up is one thing, but if we make the best of our quality from the bench, it’s something new for players to adjust to.
As the injured come back, we can replace a guy having a bad day, whatever the reason. It also allows the long term injured to ease their way back in, as match fitness is equally important. Plenty for the players to be thinking about.
 
With our injury record it's unlikely we will be able to name an injury side until the new year.

And that's not taking into account any fresh injury's we will end up with.

So how we manage the games going into the new year will be key.

Perspective shouldn't be an obscure concept. Reality is that everyone loses matches. Part of the beauty of football, famously in the Championship, is it's unpredictability.

In this league I do expect us to win each game : why not ? That is different from expecting us to win every game all season.
We all know that no team wins every game, but in this league I cannot see anything wrong in my believing that before each game that we will win.

A reasonable return over the last four games would have seen us sitting very pretty

But it's not Unitedlike

When you think of players that would have run through a brick wall when we've had successful seasons in the past, we now seem to have players that are out for weeks with a pulled shirt or a broken boot lace

Thinking you can win every game is one thing, knowing you won’t is another

Anyway, on to tonight. Brum a lot better than last season so a win for them tonight is a real possibility. As for QPR, i don't see Cardiff doing much at Loftus Rd ,so a win for the Hoops.
If this pans out then we will need to beat Coventry to go back top. UTB.

I said we are having players out for weeks with a pulled shirt or a broken boot lace

A sarcastic and light hearted way of saying these players are a set of fannies compared with previous players going through a (hopefully) promotion campaign, who would have run through brick walls to get on the pitch.
