The stats don't tell the whole story: what if West Brom attacked the right more commonly than the left?

Like I said, stats aren't everything but they do give an objective illustration of what's gone on. I'm sure the professionals would also have numbers for where attacks are coming from etc to account for stuff like that.

MoM for me was Cranie, Johnson and Freeman. Given the season they have had, to come in and dominate their position against "premier league players" is outstanding. The rest of our team are top5 performances week in and out, or high value loans. Much of the season they have not made the bench, but now zero to heroes when they were needed.

Sure, I was agreeing with you there. But the fact that Stevens was so involved, playing behind Johnson, would indicate that he was compensating for some defensive flaws of Johnson.

Just looked it up actually, and a massive 46% of West Broms attacks came down the right - compared to 27 down the left and center. Not sure if its normal for them or if they targeted Johnson.

I noticed that both Freeman and Johnson were tucked in centrally quite a bit and seemed to.struggle to get accross to whoever was out wide about to cross giving them plenty of time to pick out a decent cross ,they failed to.do this but I wasn't comfortable with how much time and space they were getting although I thought we looked solid through the middle

His hold up play was excellent, he must have drawn 4 or 5 fouls that killed 2 or 3 minutes of the game and took the pressure off at key times.

He is arguably the strongest player we have, almost impossible to knock off the ball.

I thought Freeman had a good game, hope his ankle is ok, he drives into the box more than Baldock does, and that is always going to lead to chances.

Egan was immense, what a signing, again, like Freeman, hope he is ok.

Cranie has been solid every time he has played for us, a good old fashioned pro footballer.

McG's flick over their player was class, if only he had looked up and put the ball through to Billy, who would have buried it.

Finally, Johnson, unlucky not to score after the cheeky, trademark back heel, from Dowell, lovely curling shot on goal.
