quinn had a total nightmare yesterday, im starting to wonder if he is actually good enough or not

killa is now out for 3 games, and really i dont want to see morgan and ugo at the back, not both of them, not one of them, both utter shit yesterday, morgan ive not been impressed with for a long time, and ugo although up to now has done ok, he did show some of my fears about him yesterday

i really do think we need a new partner for killa!

I didn't think Ugo did as bad as you said.

The defence was put under more pressure when Killa went off. Morgan's distribution was shocking and Naughton was doing his best to bomb forward. This left Ugo slightly exposed but I think he did alright in the circumstances... I wouldn't say he was "utter shit".

That said, Ugo is past his best and it won't be long before his legs have completely gone and Morgan has been a subject of debate for the past two seasons. He do need to try someone else in central defence, but it'd take some shuffling round or someone coming in.

I personally think you are being VERY harsh on Ugo there. Far from being "utter shit" I think he was one of our better players on the day under difficult circumstances. We do need a younger Ugo style player around though and to keep Ugo around to coach positioning/clearing a ball etc imo.

As for Morgan, I'd agree, i've been saying for months now that he can't clear a ball at the moment and the defence looks weaker with him in it.

He can, but at the moment he appears to be allergic to doing it from in or around his own area consistently.

It's either hooked out randomly and not very far with his left foot or a cushioned header with not enough power or direction.

Ok so we decide to get rid. Who do we have in the reserves or Youth Team? Ermmm no-one really. Which means we would have to sign someone. Its about time this Scouting system was put to good use!

Lowton = Not experianced enough to come straight in at CB?
Halford again not a specialist CB

Im not a fan of playing players out of there favoured positions. Although that may have to be the case at some points of the season.

if i had to i'd play Halford at CB.

Jihai has played CB for China and Manchester City I believe and Halford has definitely played CB before. Chanot's loan period is up a week on Tuesday and Lowton is a regular in the reserves.

Good central defenders are hard to come by. I think we'll have to make do or take a chance and blooding one of the kids and hope they "do a Naughton".

I'd rather see any of those come in at CB, playing alongside Ugo on Tuesday. I don't want to sound like I'm making a scapegoat, but I don't think he's up to scratch anymore.

Didn't Halford make his name as a centre back at Colchester? I'm sure when St Neil was after him, he was always touted as "Colchester centre back Greg Halford".

If Morgs was not good enough he would not be here.

Granted we do look less sound at the back with him there, but he is 3rd choice, every defence is going to look weaker with one of their stronger Centre Halfs out.

Who would some of you expect to sign who would be better than Morgs and would not get a "Gillespie" on because they were on the bench for a decent amount of the season.

Even if he does give away free kicks and occassionally commits himself too much but he is still a decent defender who most teams in this league would love to have as their main CB.
