Agreed, but TD would be an awesome squad player.I'll stick to this.![]()
I can't see him having a relegation clause to be honest, as one of the reasons we didn't push a deal was concerns around his personal wage reduction clause. He’d be coming in to compete with Peck/Blaster if we were interested. Not sure he’d drastically raise the quality of the starting 11 but he would really improve the depth replace Tom Davies in the squad with Doyle would be a big upgrade especially in terms of availability.
If he could be got at a reasonable price with a relegation wage clause in his contract then he’d be a decent signing as worst case scenario and we come back down we at least know he’s a very very good championship midfielder.
He is a lefty. There are availability questions around Souza and Davies, the former for bookings as well as injuries. Arblaster is going to be coming back from a long lay off so I would be expecting 90 mins from the off, and Peck while putting in some great performances will need some downtime, as will Olli.We actually have quite a lot of CMs now, not all that different to Doyle.
Yeah if he won’t accept a wage drop it’s a none starter and I’m not sure we should be entertaining him at 15 if they were willing to come down a bit though and he’d accept a clause I can definitely see the logic.I can't see him having a relegation clause to be honest, as one of the reasons we didn't push a deal was concerns around his personal wage reduction clause.
I still think they'll want around what they paid so around the £15m mark, and I just don't think given our requirements elsewhere we'd have the budget.
Oli, Peck, Vini, Davies and Doyle would be a strong squad for the base of our midfield, a really well balanced quintet.
I’d certainly hope there’s a way to make it work, and have enough total funding for it to be not to be a major purchase.Yeah if he won’t accept a wage drop it’s a none starter and I’m not sure we should be entertaining him at 15 if they were willing to come down a bit though and he’d accept a clause I can definitely see the logic.

If Davies was more reliable I'd agree we've got enough, but I think we're probably one short, it's just, would be look to spend £15-20m of our budget here or can one be found cheaper?
I'd like him, and I think he'd be a great fit but if our total budget is £50m it ain't happening, even at £100m it's probably doubtful given the numbers needed.
Bizarre, I always thought he was. He's not a lefty btw.
Potentially space for him, but would impact fit Blaster and Peck. He's not a defensive midfielder, he's a conductor.
I like Doyle and would be pleased if he came back. Just not sure it makes sense.
Would make the goal against Blackburn even better!Bizarre, I always thought he was.
You’ll be telling me next the girl in Moonraker who ends up with Jaws didn’t have train track braces on her teeth.
Sounds like he will be on his way out at Wolves.
If we don't go up I might be tempted in a loan but I don't think he's premier league
Palace replacement for Will Hughes ?
I wouldn’t have him for the Premier League, we need bigger athletic players to try and compete. That has to be the starting point of any additions.

Whaaat? Will Hughes has just signed a new deal there.
Kante wasn't too bad. Hardly a giant
All the lads mentioned are defenders, Doyle would be worth a punt, but only if we gomup, Souza is a big lad ,but couldn't cut it last year and is slow , would let him go and have Peck, Arblaster, Doyle & Hamer (if staying) in midfield with som3one like Choudhury as back upYes but Kante was absolutely exceptional in other areas which compensates. David Silva another incredible technician which outweighed his physical attributes.
An OK technician with small size and limited athletic attributes is one to avoid IMHO. The successful Wilderball team has lots of players who were strong and could compete athletically (JOC, Bash, Baldock, peak Enda, etc). If we’re strengthening Peck and Arblaster we need someone who has strength and athleticism AND decent technically.
