CONFIRMED Tom Davies signs 3 year deal

Which game was it where he slide tackled and won the ball and it got squared for us to score?

That's about the only positive thing I can remember from him.

Yep. Some of us on here where dead against this signing and did say it would be a big mistake....(see first 5 pages of this thread). But...you just don't like his dress sense, said some clever sods...

If you had an ounce of common, you could see this one coming a mile off.

Don't be surprised to see him out for most of this season (maybe a few intermittent games played but certainly single figures over the season), then maybe a few early next season, then injured for most, then back for a few at the end when the contract is about up and he's trying to earn a new contract with someone. And some other club will fall for it. Some said 'trust in Hecky'. Shakes head in disbelief.

To be clear, I'd love the lad to be injury free and a raging success for us. It won't happen though.

Luton away. Won a tackle on the edge of their box, we then worked it over to Vini and he slammed it in

Me too, I keep seeing Davies mentioned in various threads, with comments like "it'll be like having a new player" "he should tear it up at this level".....I always think they are on about the keeper and find it very confusing! I've also forgot Adam Davies existed a few times over his time with us.

If the new owners do come in and do have some serious money I think they would be advised to pay him up ..
 

Davies just one of our disastrous signings in the window last year. Wonder what his wages are? £20k pw? That's £1 mill pa × 3 plus query signing on fee? What a waste. You do wonder what the medical is for when guys like this get through.
 
He was a panic signing in a disastrously planned pre season .. considering our record with injuries I couldn’t believe we were taking a chance on him .. a serial crock that will be tying up wages until his contract runs out sadly

I'd take significant issues with that comment. There was nothing planned last pre season. As well as Hecky did the previous season, last Summer has set us back about 5 years...

I use the word planning in its loosist possible way .. total & utter shit shitshow would have been more appropriate .. yep agree about the fall out of it too ⚔️

He's someone you assume to be the footballers footballer hipster.
That is to say a man with a beard and long trousers that don't quite reach down to the top of his socks.
By choice, hipsters like to drive classic Mini cars. They are not concerned about the hairline on their forehead.
More often than not they get injured whilst picking up the Biro when signed the new contract with United, or when pulling out the A4 piece of paper on receiving the confirmation by fax.
No-one has the slightest remembrance of what he actually looks like.

Shirley insurance covers wages when they’re out. If not what is player insurance for?

What would be the point of that? Unless he's a bad influence (which I've seen nothing to suggest he is).

For it to he worth our while, he'd have to accept a lump sum that is significantly lower than what we're contracted to pay him. I'm not sure he'd accept that whilst injured and unlikely to find another club.

Best option is to just try and get him fit, to at least contribute something to us this season.

Anyone have any idea what his current injury is or if there's any chance of him being back in training anytime soon?
 

Whilst we know he has injury issues, we also know that if he get fit, this lad is a "cheat code" for the champ. "When he comes on in his first game after 70 minutes he is going to light up the lane. Every player and staff member is buzzing about him"

So hope this is true 😻
