If this is an alternative to OBrien, it's a bit concerning. It suggests that Hecky sees Osborn and Fleck as serious options for LCM. Because I don't think he'd go without a left footed option for that position

If we insist on being so horribly under strength on the left side of our defence, then we needed a strong left sided CM to help them and balance that out. Davies can cover a lot of ground, but he won't cover that area in the way someone like OBrien would

I would have waited for OBrien. Forest have to do something with him. But it's clearly not to be. Maybe we'll revisit it with him in the future

Davies could be anything. He's another gamble, albeit a more experienced one. We could make it work with the midfield we'll end up with but now it's clear how the complete picture there will look, it's clear that the left side is going to be a gaping weakness, and that should never have been allowed to happen

Forest would just draw it out and then twist the knife and pull the deal. We’d do the same.

I think that's a little unfair on him. There were a decent number of us who really wanted this signing once we know he was available on a free.
It makes so much sense, and the only negatives I have are because I can't have a direct conversation with him which obviously Hecky can and has.
