Seems logical to me, free signing, midfielder, PL experience.

Get him in the u21’s for a few games and then get him in the first team asap.

I’m personally not too keen on this signing, just feels like a gap filler in the midfield, he is championship level at best, if Everton are letting him go who nearly got relegated last season, that says enough. Had bright potential when he was younger but now i’m not too sure. Maybe Hecky and his good coaching team can bring him back to the level he should be at.

They tried to get him to sign a new contract but he wanted more playing time. He isn't a cast off.

If we continue to look beyond this season I do believe we are building a good foundation for next season in the championship. As negative as it sounds, this squad looks better than the one that went down last time, so it’s a good start for me! He will be a good championship player and hopefully a deputy for hamer this season

Wife’s uncle is an Everton season ticket holder. Says the signing could go either way. If his confidence returns, he’s a fine player - to quote him word for word
My Everton mate said more or less same thing.
When he first came in he was very impressive. Everton fans raved about him.Got injured. Crowd got on his back. Lost confidence.
If the initial player he was comes back he'll be a good signing. If not........

Good to know we are signing all the players we wanted to sign when we were a championship team.

We know he's big mates with DCL, so I am guessing that may have helped influence his choice.

We can debate the merits and strengths of Doyle, Davies & O Brien but lets for a moment just assume there is not a lot of difference overall then Davies is a no brainer - h he is available and free, Man City want too much for Doyle & Forest will fuck us about over O'Brien

Some people express an opinion then there are experts who know very little but like to come across as 'hey, listen to my , knowledgeable opinion '

I have just read the Daily Mail article about Tom Davies https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...g-former-Everton-sensation-Goodison-Park.html Seems to me a sound bloke and thoroughly professional footballer who has left Everton because he wants to play football.
Remember he has been at the Everton shit show, no consistency in management & a horrendous atmosphere & relations with supporters. I back Hecky to manage him properly and get his confidence back into his play.
