Welcome Tom. Has potential to be a great signing. Some consistency in management/coaching and further development from McCall could be a key player.

All this talk he looks weird is quite offensive. He has a beard and longish hair 🤷🏻‍♂️. God help the poor lad if he ever fucks up some of the idiots will no doubt shout offensive comment his way.

Only thing I find weird is Hecky and Davies have been in contact all summer about the move but we only sign him after pre season. He's going to need match fitness to play.

I agree 100%. Just thinking about this. I am older but I’m fortunate to have 3 lads early 20s who keep me honest. :)
I was a bit underwhelmed by him
at first, having only picked up snippets about him. When I listened to what Hecky said, the lad himself and the balanced view on SUW, I’m slowly warming to him.
My optimistic side says, give the lad a chance and don’t judge him too quickly, at least until he has played for us.
Last season saw too many so called fans on here using anyone who has a bad game as a scapegoat!

And quite ridiculous too, as if how a player dresses away from the pitch makes any difference to how he performs on it.

I suspect if Oli Burke wore normal human clothes it wouldn’t have stopped him running into advertising hoardings.

It’s far more noteworthy that he seems a very grounded person off the pitch.

So he’s into fashion. Good for him. What impresses me more is the work he has been doing to help the homeless and the fact that he’s been doing it for a while away from the camera, motivated by the aim to make a difference rather than the good press it might bring.

Seems to be a responsible, mature lad who I’d imagine will be easily well liked in the dressing room, especially as he’s known as a player who puts in his fair share of graft.

In Tom's case he's been stuck at the same club for ages, a change of scenery may be exactly what he needs to push on.

We wanted to bolster our midfield, most of us were saying this even last season, our midfield has now been bolstered. So let's get behind them starting at Florist.

Not weird at all. I suspect that the initial discussions would have foundered on Davies' wage demands with Hecky then checking in periodically until Davies relented and accepted our offer, which is probably around half what he was on at Everton.

Think on this,if we'd just read that Tom Davies had just signed for say,Wolves,Forest,Bournemouth, Luton or Burnley, we'd have loads on here saying ' fk me,why weren't we in for him ...?'
Never happy are we ? 😐
Thats so true - ie Ross Barkley

Agree mate instead of being a greedy grab grab grab footballer he tries to put something back . Welcome to the Lane mate hope it turns out well for you son .

Are people forgetting a few seasons ago Everton dumped about 100 odd million into players too? They've been playing survival ever since, a slow decline. Hardly ideal for a young (he would have been 20-21) player to break into a team after that.

Give him a bloody chance.

I feared from the very start that this lad may be the new scapegoat. The one people pile abuse on when we don't play well. It seems many Blades need this. If popular scapegoats Norwood, Lowe and Berge aren't going to feature post August, a new one will be needed. If he is now to be considered the signing that meant we didn't get Doyle, holy shit Tom needs to be prime Messi or he's gonna get dog shit in the mail :(

Anyone know why he wasn’t on the bench today? Got a lot of hope for this signing and if we don’t end up getting Doyle we’ll need him pushing Norwood for a place in what’s looking a much stronger and capable midfield.

as much as davies arrival hasnt excited our fans i think when fully fit he gets in before norwood at this level 155 premier league games speaks for itself
