I'd like to see the kop completely rebuilt as I'm sure most fans would.

I'd like to have a lower tier which is all standing so the ones who need to go for a piss every 5 minutes can do so without disturbing the rest of us who don't need to drink several pints to pluck up courage or hatred to watch it.

I'd love to have a high step like it used to be when I was a kid - so young uns can be right in the thick of the atmosphere and still be able to see the game.

But I don't see anything other than positives about the plans to create a bigger more modern stadium. I think the comments about health and safety of the extension are ridiculous tbh. If any of you have tried doing an extension at home you'll know the regs are so strict on this that no way they'd be allowed to do anything unsafe.

We're planning to create the biggest capacity, most modern stadium in this city and the biggest kop of any team in the country. And some of you are still not happy eh?

Get some fucking therapy for Gods sake!
I'm obviously doing something wrong, but whenever I go to a football match, I have a bite to eat and a drink before I get to the ground, go for a piss before I take my seat and somehow manage to stay in the stand for the whole game.
The only 'crush' I ever encounter is at full-time and then my master plan is to wait. patiently for a couple of minutes.
I really do live life 'on the edge'!

We'll be pissing in the wind with regard to standing sections for the forseeable future I'm afraid. The "Safety Advisory" wankers, Sheffield Council (spit) and the clubs unwillingness to rock the boat will see to that.

I hold out hope that common sense will prevail. I just hope it's in my lifetime.

This Sheffield Council safety team that suddenly has imposed thousands of seats to be not sat in. Does anyone else know if they are taking instructions from a higher authority like the F.A or can we just tell them to sod off?

I got that wrapped up in the game I only took one picture...

That Pukka Pie corner still amuses me I have to say, who really wants to sit in there unless you cant get a ticket elsewhere where the view is miles better?!

I hope those two lads who went to the same barber got their money back. What did he use to cut their hair? A knife and fork?

I never noticed there was two of them till you mentioned it!
I reckon they had an accident with a hedge trimmer as they were walking past someones garden!

Well you must let me in on the secret of longevity. Whether I have 3,2 or 1 pints before a match there is no way my bladder holds past 3:30. Of course I have a piss before kick off. I then have another piss at half time and I'm OK for the rest of the match. You should write to Lancet and let us over 60's in on the secret.

Pathetic! I asked for pictureS, not one single, solitary, measly picture of the pitch! I wanted character, characters, incidents, drunken Blades, fighting with coppers, fighting with the opposition, busted lips, blood pouring from heads. And what do I get - this! Poor effort 1/10

:)

Altho standing on the garage forecourt after the game and seeing the police and horse mounted cops shepherding the bunch of Scunny fans who thought they were big and hard acting and posturing like a scene out of the Football Factory was kinda amusing!

Yes, sitting where we do near the away fans, it was funny seeing them offering us out after we'd equalised. Like we were going to jump up into the top tier and start a ruck. I did get 'that' look from the better half when I started flicking vs at them, like some demented teenager. Oh dear, how football brings out the worst in us and reduces me to being a child again.

Not a million miles from where I was sat then...

The 'yobs with gobs' section I was reliably informed the block where I was sitting :)

I thought they were polite and very well behaved until the referee started acting like an attention seeker with his weird decisions and card calls, then the expletives started :D but all well founded and justified in my eyes, I even had a bit of a laugh with those sat around me 'theyre only saying it like it is, cant argue with the facts', got all the regular old timers grinning...love seein stuff like that.

That Scunthorpe number 30 (or whatever daft number they get given these days, should be 1-11) going down with cramp and hamming it up to the ref and wasting time drew a few choice lines.. 'come and sit up here with us in t'stand for 10 minutes and we'll help sort it out' had me chuckling :)

No secret mate just ask your GP for a Cath.
Perfect for the Bramall Lane upper tier as at 3.50 you simply walk to the front row and empty it over the edge.Cath1.jpg

Can't believe they're still trying to incorporate a spoil heap into a modern football stadium. Also, what is the obsession with building office blocks into the stands? when there's plenty of land to do it elsewhere in BL footprint.
And removing them from the football club and into the family business . . .

We are football fans.
We have watched away games uncovered in rain and snow.
We have had all sorts of crap chucked at us.
We have been locked in at away grounds for 30 minutes after the game.
We are regularly herded like animals by police dogs and horses.

We are not at the opera.

I sit bang in the centre of the Kop and can't buy anything without missing some of the game. Today I missed their goal (but saw ours) just going for a piss.

Do I mind?

Of course not if the football is as good as it was today.

Grow some and concentrate on United, rather than the 'facilities being sub-optimal'.
But BDTBL is our place of worship.

Are we in danger of not actually realising what we actually do have at BDTBL and how great it is?

Yes, we all want the ground to be the best it can be and for me, crucially to remain at S24SU to try and retain some of the character, culture and history that you can't buy or build.

We have a great home to football and whilst I like old and interesting grounds (to a point) do you think the likes of Bristol Rovers, Peterborough, Fleetwood, Southend would swop? Equally, I think we should be careful what is wished for when tinkering with the beautiful recipe that is Bramall Lane and I think of those modern empty (toilet) bowls like Coventry and MK dons or stuck out away from normality grounds like Bolton, Huddersfield, Reading etc.

Safe standing and the English Red and white equivalent to the Dortmund yellow wall would enhance the culture. More Lego kits would not and a move down the Don Valley a disaster...

You were in the infamous H or possibly G block. We are in the much more reserved family stand opposite to where you were. Until we scored that is, and more than one old lad 'waved' at the away end. :) :)
Yes, what a tosser their number 30 was!

Hope that you enjoyed the game JonnyRed(WCFC) did any forum members meet you for a beer?

I enjoyed every minute (except the minute that bloody Scunthorpe scored in) yes thank you, I can tell you the game seemed to go by far too quick than 90 minutes for my liking due to the good football the Blades were playing and they deserved the win.

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the build up to the game, the friendly warm company of the fans around where I was sat so I felt totally at ease, welcomed and part of the overall good feeling and spirit going round the place.

I met up with WhiteHawk and his 2 Scunny mates who were top chaps , kept me company not long after I arrived so early which I am very grateful for, the full english breakfast we had was top notch and the Blades fans he introduced me to prior to the game were all chatty and friendly although not forum posters. After the game we rejoined up and popped in a few more pubs (funny how I seemed to end up drinking more beer than I realized!) and it was in the Beer Engine that I met some posters hiding in the garden, Foxy and Linz (complete with growing little Bladey bump :) ), Raul, Silverfox and Brownie..

I think I need to make another trip up and acquaint myself a bit more with the good Blades folk, it might be a bug i'm catching :)

Start again please and make it steeper (something like Dortmunds wall !!) Took my 8 year old and spent most of match having to pick him up bleeding arms are killing me!

Kop need demolishing and rebuilding
But it should be properly demolished and started again from scratch, not just a really crap extension added to a really crap building
But it feels like my second home :(

I'd love some safe standing on it.
Could add 4K then, no probs :)

It can still be your second home,
The kop is different now to what it was like in the 70's and 80's but it is still the same place
Every other part of the stadium is different to what it was

It quite simply has to rebuilt, it was hashed together so it would be ready in time following on from the Taylor Report and it was only supposed to be a temporary measure.
The inside of Bramall Lane looks reasonably impressive, but from the outside it looks tired and outdated, especially the kop end, the facilities are beyond a joke in the 21st century

The south stand should also be extended a little and then turned 90 degrees so that the kop can be built attached to it
