The pitch at the lane is currently playable and the Groundstaff and academy Groundstaff are currently out there working to keep it that way.

More heavy rain is forecast throughout the afternoon however, so it's being monitored.

To be honest it has not stopped rain since early hours in S8 and is currently tipping it down. If it continues without stopping up to midday at current pace/deluge; I think it will be off. I think with Hartlepool fans probably setting off before lunch they will want to make a decision.

Mixed minds really. It wont be worst thing in world with injuries, suspension threats etc but I suppose be good to keep momentum going and could see top spot going.

If it goes ahead Deadders, your opening para is sorted....

Better to play today otherwise McMahon will miss the Donnie game. On the other hand, if they don't play today we can't pick up any more yellow cards and the ban threshold moves from 5 to 10 in the new year.

What do you mean? ;)

Odd that at New York Stadium; Rotherham have said no problems and there pitch is as dry as a bone - do they have so much better drainage there - I know it is a new stadium?! Be a little embarassing if theres goes ahead and ours is off?!

Still chucking it down here; if anything even worse.

Its peein it down in Morley but my back lawn would definitely be playable if it was big enough!

And Im leaving here on the next train so it had better bloody well be on

It's eased in the past half hour here in Rotherham anyway.

Still bouncing it down in s8.

Been torrential rain since I got up 8.30am ish.

Gut feeling is it will be off. Happy to be proved wrong though.

I'm thinking the other way, we'll leave it till the last possible because we'll be epoecting a big crowd today - probably be down by 6000 or so if we were to play on a Tuesday night in Feb. More important than the couple of hundred of Poolies from the financial standpoint, though it will be tough on them.

It will be down to the ref though - not US.

Ref will probably arrive in next half hour or so and inspect. If he says its not playable game is off, regardless of what our groundstaff feel and do.

To those travelling from shorter distances; if they can I would leave it for an hour and think we will know one way or other by 12.30 ish.

But it's due to stop raining around 1 so even if unplayable at noon he will have to factor in the fact it will improve. Yes it's refs decision but if both clubs want to play that will have a bearing on said decision.

Referee Deadman says its playabble as of 11.15am!

Not sure I trust a ref with that name. Mind you if it goes ahead he cant be any worse than the last two.
