Missed Clarke today. We barely had a shot on goal. Birmingham wanted it more. Lots of possession and sideways football but completely missing killer instinct. We can't finish teams off. We played much better at Brentford. A real lack of desire today which surprised me. And such a promising start. I thought this is going to be one of those special away days but we just fizzled out like a wet banger. Brum deserved the points.

Not going to single anyone out for criticism because no one played well. The only bit of quality was the pass to Duffy which opened up their defence. Didn't see who passed it. Duffy scuffed his shot but it went in. Che Adams got some stick but I'll always remember him for his goal against Spurs. That said he'll never do better than Brum. That's his level. First trip to St Andrews and a good away day apart from the performance. Liked the pubs near New Street and shared a cab with two Brummies to the ground. They were sound. Said Hillsborough was a shithole and we were a bigger club than the Pigs. Prefer them to Villa to be honest.

Highlight was the beer in the Shakespear pregame,

Stopped playing when we scored and second half was dire.

Anyway just pigged out on a curry in Selly Oak and hitting the whiskey at my eldest’s house, could be worse I guess

Walked back to the car with a couple of Blues who said we played well!! Easy to be magnanimous in victory. Very disappointing.

After another disappointing away performance I have to wonder, are the levels of desire where they need to be? Is the bravery there?

Today was a weak effort in what was always going to be a fight. It was similar at Barnsley. Something missing in both games.

The players seem to have lacked belief for weeks, and the fans did today as well, evidently.

For all the stick Clarke gets at times he is by far our best all round striker. We look so much poorer without him. The lads at the top all put the effort in but Clarke is the one who really makes a difference to our attacking play. His hold up play is underrated and he has more pace and power than he's given credit for.
