To those who said not to sign Welbeck

He's scored 5 in 21 matches. So he's been unavailable for a third of their games so far. Probably more given he's not played in the cup.

Billy has scored 5 but in 19 matches.

Shall we also just rest the case then that we should have just played Billy more and saved 50m we spent on McBurnie, Brewster and Mousset? 😉

Believe it or not I don't think the strikers are the issue. It's been creating more chances. Chances we did create the season before. Energy we had too which has fizzled away understandable because of the situation too.

In my opinion had we got lingard. Or someone to give the midfield a real boot up the arse in Jan with some freshness and creativity we "may" still be talking about possibly staying up.
The club/board gave up by jan. Possibly understandably.

Better still had wilder been able to sign a replacement for JOC like he wanted to in September after he relapsed and was going to go under the knife we could also be looking at a different scenario. He was told that option was not available.

Create and score or create fuck all and not score.

we could have just played 8 players some games and left the strikers on the bench with the amount of chances we created

* 8 not 9 due to the fact Lunny played most
games

Toney, Lucumi, Lyndon Dykes & Welbeck on perms & Harry Wilson on loan. We spend £15m on fees and we stay up.

Players are like horses or donkeys , and so are managers , i was wrong about Lingard , i didn't want him , but someone pointed out he's an ex England player and has a good pedigree and is proven just like welbeck .
Now take the point of managers , look at Rooney brill proven and pedigree player , fucking useless unproven donkey Manager , this is why the appointment of our next manager need to be someone who has a proven pedigree , whether Hecky falls into this category i am not sure but i do like the guy .

I love all this bullshit “I told you so” wank from people who apparently know best. Just because Wellbeck and Lingard are scoring for their respective teams doesn’t mean they’d do so for us. Just chucking in decent players wouldn’t make a difference when the tactics and inspiration aren’t there.
Correct, if only we had signed Alan Hansen in 1976!

Yesterday's goal was class. Rolled back the years there. Great player on his day, when fit.

He has however, scored 2 less than Didzy and 2 more than Billy

I actually think at this stage FM is just trolling.
Welbeck, along with Wilshere were big names on big money with no resale value and with huge question marks over their ability to stay fit.
This concern over their ability to make it onto the pitch has shown to be true, there was never a question of their ability as player which they’ve also continued to show on rare occasion.
However each time they play FM will dig up these posts in an attempt to show he was right.
We bought players with a view to selling them on and then either being proven at The Championship or we would get back at least what we paid. I’d still rather have done what we did, rather than throwing the money away on expensive duds with no resale value.

We could have had Jamie Vardy for nowt when Wednesday rejected him, retrospect is 20/20 vision.

After suggesting Harry Wilson I’m not surprised. Especially given you drew up that list with the benefit of hindsight. 😂

I hate to admit it, but being right in hindsight and a 12" penis & lying are amongst my many strengths. Anyhows, he's joint 2nd assister in the championship so go easy on the dis, daddio. ;)

I’m amazed that players like Welbeck have managed to make a career out of being sat on the physio table, he’s been paid to do literally fuck all for years, what a job and living he’s had.

Like Lys Mousset, then?

pommpey

In our current side, Welbeck or whoever the fuck else would be just as ineffective as our current strikers.

However, sacking the Brewster signing off and instead getting Welbeck for cheap (ish), then throwing £15 million on a proper creative midfielder would have seen us far better.

Recruitment bad etc...
