How depressing our season has been, I'm watching the League One play offs this week which consists of:

Bradford, who haven't beaten us this season and we comfortably beat at Bramall Lane.

Walsall, who haven't beaten us this season and we comfortably beat at Bramall Lane.

Barnsley, who haven't beaten us this season and who took a 95th minute goal to grab a draw at their shed.

Milwall, the only team to beat us twice.

So as bad as we've been all season, we still didn't lose to 3 out of the 4 beyond average teams of which one will go up.

I'm continually baffled at how football manager after football manager can't seem to put a strong promotion challenge together in this league.

Come on Wilder, be the odd one out.

Pete was thinking the same .

IMO out of all the play off games , I do feel Wimbledon / Accrington is at our level .

If we made it into the play offs , I honestly thought we would win them . On hindsight I think we would have finished up being embarrassed .

Adkins would have played the wrong team , tactics and at the end of the day seen a complete different game to the rest of us , after Dismal home and away displays.

I do think Wilder will be the odd one out , and sort the mess and galvanise the team next season.

I agree, I almost didn't want us to make the playoffs as I expected yet another embarrassing let down.

as I fully expected the manager to start the clearout and the incomings a month ahead of what we usually do after failing in the PO's.
Have a full(ish) compliment of the squad, signed and sealed, ready for next season's onslaught.

I wouldn't know mate, I'd long gone.

The thought of applauding or showing appreciation to that shower of expensive shit made my blood boil.
 
Millwall 3-1 now. They really should have made the top two this season.

Two play off finals decided already!

And most who stayed just sat there in silence to observe what was probably the most pitiful thing I've seen.

I stuck around out of morbid curiosity. I thought they'd be roundly booed, maybe even an impromptu protest or summat.

But nothing happened, just an empty ground and a smattering of unenthusiastic clapping.
Says it all about how bad it's got. We don't even have the fire in us to get angry anymore.

So if Millwall go on to win the play-offs, all will be well in the PB household I presume? ;)

That shows how much we've underperformed. I'd rate Brayford, Freeman, Basham and maybe even Flynn higher than the awful McMahon. Yet look where his team is.

Part of our problem is poor players, another part is an unbalanced squad, but the sustained level of under-performance amongst the vast majority of individuals is terrifying.

For that reason we need to sweep them all away as the culture here must be poisonous.

Btw, talking of fat wankers - surprised to see Porker Pressman on Millwall's coaching staff at the end there.

No one can argue that Wilson's team didn't put in a strong promotion challenge. Weir's didn't, but he wasn't here for long. We were a goal away from making Wembley last season (OK a goal away from levellng the tie) so that's a fairly strong promotion challenge. We haven't had two managers in a row that didn't challenge for promotion.
